After 11pm - No words can describe it for employment, Without respect there can be nothing good, Without honor amongst staff there can be no forth giving, Without integrity there can be nothing. If your hearing impaired in any way this is not the place to work , If you have anxiety this is not the place to work , If you have ptsd this is not the friendly environment you can adjust to ,
Now my reason is this , The customers can be drunk & highly loud & rude & that something that can really rattle your nerves & management will not respect you enough to keep you from having to deal with it ,
usually the lobby area is tolerable & most time will just leave you jaw dropped at how stupid or silly or even gasterdly rude sometimes but mostly smiles & patient people ,
Mangement will become irratated if you do not grab your tables plates the minute they place it up there in the window & yet not follow procedure & call step four let alone if done it's not even at a level you can hear , then if the drive threw becomes full they will ecnor dining room orders doing them little by little & then say the customers can wait it's not there fault we are under staffed, forgetting that the whole reason they have jobs is because of the customers, Now drive threw is simply 97% of the time what I mentioned earlier customers can be drunk & highly loud & rude & that something that can really rattle your nerves & management will not respect you enough to keep you from having to deal with it insted they will basicly leave you with the feeling of either do what they say or no job even though the drive threw makes you feel like you want to hide inside a room with the door locked in pure silence because your nerves make your anxiety sky Rocket & everything just feels like it's spinning around your head & you have no control to stop it ,now I'm not asking for much when the whole reason I took the job as a SERVER for loby was to be a SERVER & NOT a DRIVE THREW HOST , I waited litteraly a month to write this heart felt review & I hope that it gives insight to anyone looking to apply that if you have any type of mental or physical difficulty Steak & shake is not ment for you now if you have family who works there its completely different because well as with anywhere if family is there they know that someone is always paying attention so you would have...
Read moreI usually have an okay time with alright service and good food at the Steak N' Shake on Spring Avenue, the employees are average and all over the place and my burger is always incredible, but tonight I faced bad enough service to place my first review on a restaurant. I went through the drive-thru out of convenience and timing, only to be met with an incompetent drive-thru worker who didn't give me my food nor explained I had to receive it inside. She even made sure I was getting what I ordered and charged me for it - a 2 for 3 frank hot dog and steakburger, milkshake, and chili cheese fries -, and forgot to give me my chili cheese fries. I arrived inside with no one in line, and one of the two servers serving a table. Said server saw me afterwards, greeted me, then walked away to chat for five minutes with the other server as a line of patrons accumulated behind me. Eventually, the other server arrived and did not bother to greet me, instead grabbing a menu to seat me until I explained my situation, then she just told me to sit somewhere and wait. I sat near a woman at the bar waiting for them to ask me for what I needed, and no one bothered until ten minutes later a server mentioned I needed my chili cheese fries they already charged me for, then they started to make them. When the woman who made them was finally done, for no understandable reason, she glared at me as she passed and tried to give my chili cheese fries to the woman seated near me, then she apologized with no real emotion for mixing it up to me and handed me my fries. By the time I arrived home, my burger was cold and slimy, and the chili cheese fries resemble more of a soup with fries softer than a llamas fur. I faced terrible customer service, and food to match. This was my first bad experience at the store so I'm hoping that the crew of the evening either won't stick around long, or they get better at their jobs. If it continues to be a regular occurrence, I will be sure to carry my...
Read moreOkay, so I get it, yesterday was 4/20. And I'm not unaware of the fact that the majority of fast food workers are generally at least a little high while they work. But boy howdy, it was a new level last night!
When I drove up, a staff member was outside smoking. No big deal. Everyone needs a smoke break. But the whole lot reeked of cannabis. When I got to the drive through window, it took forever to order because the person taking my order had to confirm several times before getting it right. They were clearly very high. To the point of barely being able to do their job.
The food took a bit longer than most drive through joints, but this could be due to the fact that the meals are cooked to order. When we got our food, we checked it, and it appeared correct. However, I didn't try my drink until after we'd pulled away. I'd ordered a large UNsweet tea. I am diabetic, so I have to have sugar-free drinks. My tea was DEFINITELY exceptionally sweet. I had to throw away my beverage. That I paid extra for, because it was a large drink.
Now, one of these things would have been okay. Super stoned? Fine, I get it. Wrong drink? Also whatever, I get it. But combining the two - not so okay. What if it had been a food allergy and I'd had an anaphylactic episode?
I can't help but assume this happened because they weren't "all there." I am concerned for the other patrons who could have more serious issues than a sweet versus unsweet tea. Yes, I know I, should have tested the beverage before leaving, but I shouldn't have HAD to.
Food was good, though. Quite good! But guys, don't get so high you can...
