This was my first visit and I really enjoyed it. I was concerned because it was a Saturday morning at 8:30 a.m. and I just knew it would be busy and we may not get seated right away; we were seated as soon as we walked in.
Our server was very attentive.
The food arrived within 10 / 15 minutes
When going to most breakfast places for a first time especially, I always go for my go-to, which is the eggs benedict.
To be honest when my eggs benedict and home fries arrived, the holidays looked a bit different than I am used to at most places and I was unsure about how it would be, taste-wise. I really enjoyed it and I ate every bite. I always get my English muffins toasted extra for that crunch and so they don't end up too soggy. Perfect amount of Hollandaise and the home fries were good as well.
Tasty coffee, which matters because you would be surprised or not, that a lot of breakfast places don't serve super good coffee. 😕
I will definitely come back, thank you Bree for introducing me to this breakfast/lunch spot and thank you Tina for your exceptional service. There was another young lady there who was our actual server and I am so sorry I did not get her name. She was great as well!
I paid for breakfast and with the tip it was around $40
I did not take a picture of my blueberry pancake which I saved for the next...
Read moreThe best breakfast we have had in YEARS. This is a real hometown diner - nothing pretentious. Counter-and-stool seating plus both indoor and outdoor sidewalk seating. Even a few old fashioned booths!
Food is homestyle like you would have had 30 years ago. OK, I did see avacado one time on the menu, but nowhere near the word "toast". Eggs benedict was the BEST we have had - the hollandase is thick and rich, covering a perfectly poached pair of eggs. Old fashined homefries and regular brewed coffee served and refilled in a regular sized mug!
Bisucits and sausage gravy was a special on the board, but they only make so much, it was out by 10:30. Go early if that is your desire!
Service is perfect.
Best part - three of us got out for $40 for breakfast, with plendy in a to-go box.
Dog-friendly outdoors. While you are there, check out two great local shops (Anchor & Compass, Compass Rose, Bennetts Books) all within sight.
Go, you will be happy. Easily worth an hour drive on a Sunday. Within 10 minutes of...
Read moreThe diner was quaint and comfy, located on the corner of a small town business district. It was busy given it was a Sunday morning, but after a small wait we were sat for two at a booth by the window. My girlfriend had the eggs benedict special and me the ham and cheese omelette. The muffin used for the eggs benny was rubbery, so much that we swapped it out for the rye toast that came with my meal. A larger issue was the eggs being undercooked, never good for a breakfast place. The white parts of the egg were still runny. We ate most of it while leaving the extra soggy portions behind - although this may not have been enough as my girlfriend came down with a stomach ache later that afternoon. All in all, it's a standard diner with friendly staff and good coffee. I would have liked to rate this better as my omelette was tasty but they need to cook the food fully even when busy. Probably...
