Very unfortunately!!! I paid a second visit to the place, and I had to come and update my initial review. Please read it to the end. To starters, Boteco do Manolo is an extremely inconsistent restaurant! With a serious identity crise happening. They still don't know if they want to be good or bad! Because the first visit was mostly great, but this last one was absolutely a TOTAL DISGRACE! And let me say that the Filipe guy, manager, is still there and still doing an amazing job! This guy is really great. But this last visit.... ๐ซฃ could not be any worse. Took my whole family, spent a small fortune, and everyone unanimously left mad at me for having been the one suggesting it. Food was 100% nasty. Actually, SUPER VERY HORRIBLE would be nice to say. Not 1 dish was right, not even the brigadeiro. ๐ซฃ see pictures! They managed to screw up every single dish I am still mad for having paid for that food! And I am not going back. They lost my business over that. Got the very best server, though, Eduardo! How unfortunately!
The food was great! I was very skeptical upon being invited to go and have dinner at this "Brazilian" food restaurant! I almost said no, and now I am glad that I did not! ๐ It is worth the visit. It is worth the price, and everything served is meant to be shared by 2 or even 3 people! Make reservations! The live music is very professional and commercial. A+ My best comment is that I am a chef, a professional culinary consultant, I was born in Brazil, and I do have a vast knowledge about culinary! and I have to say that their Moqueca is with no doubt THE VERY BEST I have tasted in my 56 years of life! ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL! 1000 CUDOS! ๐๐๐ฅณ very impressive! AND My worst comment is that service could be better! Let's do the general overall: A little patience is a must with the staff because most are not very clever! There are 3 floor manager And they are not created equal! ๐ The blond one I believe named Hugo is an amateur with no skills at all! Should never be placed on a restaurant floor, not even as a server, much less as a manager! Total joke! ๐ Alex, the Asian one, is even willing somewhat.... but still needs some training! But it's better than the blond guy by much! And the third one, Felipe, I believe was his name, is good! Actually, he is close to great! Most definitely, I am a manager and a manager with management skills! ๐๐ He was listening he was a solution provider he was attempting to resolve with efficiency and smiles! He should be teaching the other two! Our server was Julia! And she is a clever, one exception! She was 8 out of 10! pretty good for the restaurant in question. Our hostess was Amanda, and she was a sweetheart who could use a little training too. The couple playing and singing are definitely professionals, and they delivered the show. I actually truly believe that they are underpaid! 5.00 is offensive for their level I would have paid double and still would have been under the impression it was a deal. The only negative is that they need to fix their sound mixer table because the voice or the music was too loud over the other! I can not recall which one was off, but better mixing was in order! Probably the mic was overwhelming the music. The tables and chairs are okay. Comfortable enough. Black beens were good, very well, seasoned, and perfect consistency. Rice could be a little bit better! Less starchy and use a bit of garlic to enhance flavor. The point of the cooking was great. Picanha was a solid 7 Pirao was perfect solid 9 out of 10 The Cod fish was fantastic! The garlic on the diah was wow the fishh was perfectly cooked flakey and delicious just the potatoes needed SERIOUS attention. Please season it!!!๐๐ซฃ The pastel portion was a total disgrace, and I could not BELIEVE that the easiest food of all was the one that you could not get right by far. Unfortunately, your pastel is disgusting in taste and served soaked in oil! Pls review this dish completely or remove it from the menu! You can not serve quality food and have the most horrible...
ย ย ย Read moreI recently visited Boteco do Manolo in Deerfield Beach on a Sunday early afternoon, and my experience was a mix of highs and lows. As I walked in, I noticed a live music group setting up, which added a lively ambiance to the place. Initially, there were only a few people at the restaurant, but it gradually filled up as more patrons arrived.
The live music started playing shortly after we were seated. While the idea of live music is a nice touch, the volume was quite loud, even on the opposite side of the restaurant. This made it difficult to have a conversation at our table, which was a bit frustrating. I believe the music volume should be adjusted to create a more comfortable dining atmosphere, especially during dinner time.
On a positive note, the service was excellent. Despite the growing crowd, the staff was attentive, and our food was served promptly. Dani, our server, provided outstanding customer service, and the manager, Felipe, was very professional and ensured we were well taken care of. Their efforts were truly appreciated.
As for the food, I ordered the Picanha a moda de casa, medium rare. While the presentation was appealing, the execution could have been better. The fat on the Picanha was not rendered enough, and the arroz maluco was overly oily. Although I was quite hungry and ate everything, I felt the quality did not match the prices. The food is quite expensive for what is offered, and I expected a higher standard considering the cost.
We visited Boteco do Manolo the day after my mother's birthday party to celebrate with family members who were flying out on Sunday. While the atmosphere had a certain charm, it felt more like a status symbol rather than a place to enjoy authentic Brazilian cuisine. Having dined at numerous Brazilian restaurants, I found this experience lacking in terms of food quality and overall value.
In summary, Boteco do Manolo offers a lively atmosphere with live music, which can be a double-edged sword due to its volume. The service is excellent, thanks to the dedicated staff, but the food quality does not justify the high prices. While I may consider returning if invited by a group, it is not my first choice for Brazilian dining. For those looking to experience Brazilian 'buteco' culture, there are better options available. My rating stands at 3...
ย ย ย Read moreThe place is good, the staff is nice. If you like โtorresmoโ try the โ Torresmo de roloโ is very good. I think the โPastelโ are more delicious from another restaurant that I recommend in the Glades, the โbolinhos fritosโ are good, only the โbolinho de feijoadaโ that the first time I tried it had a strange taste (I think it was fried too much) that I no longer want to eat it again; but a lot of people like. I think the caipirinha comes in a small glass, it should be a little bigger for the amount of ice and lemon it comes with. I've had a few caipirinhas in Brazil and the glass isn't as small as the ones you serve here. The receptionist /waitress should advise that you pay for cover before the person sits at the table, also say that it is optional, because the last time I was there, I arrived before the music started, we were charged for the cover and no one at the table had been informed of it. Yesterday I remembered to ask (again nobody told about the music)The waitress told us that if you want to sit inside you have to pay the cover. if you like loud music ok, but it's hard to have a conversation inside. The executive dishes for lunch from 12pm to 4pm are good priced for the amount that comes, but the prices on the dinner menu are expensive. The Bear is Iced Cold.
I'm doing an update and my rating went down because my son made a reservation for 4 people. When it was time to pay the bill, since one person couldn't show up at the restaurant, they wanted to charge $20 for a person who wasn't there. This doesn't make sense, because at a table that seats four people, you can also seat 2-3 people and no one pays for an...
