My husband and I ate at Kurt's Steakhouse recently and had an amazing experience! The cozy supper club vibe made me want to head straight to the bar to start with an old fashioned. And so we did:) For an appetizer we ordered the crab stuffed mushrooms, baked with a house made sherry butter – they were to die for! I had the Lobster bisque, which was velvety smooth, rich, and decadent. It was the kind of soup that perfectly coats the back of a spoon:) I was in heaven. My husband had the French onion soup, which he said was also very good. We shared a beef porterhouse. I have to admit I am a tenderloin girl, but I wanted to go out of the box this time. The steak was perfectly charred and the crispy edges melted in my mouth. The center was juicy and medium rare. For sides we shared the traditional creamed spinach and crispy brussels sprouts that had this unique combination of wasabi and cashews – it was all delicious. Drink prices are reasonable, and the wait staff is super friendly. We will definitely be back to Kurts! Thank you for the exceptional dining experience!

Kurts Steakhouse…AMAZING! Their service was ON POINT it was mass crazy busy in there and not one time did the service lag…such a well oiled fantastic team…no water or soda glass went dry and empty plates were never left sitting on the table…just FANTASTIC work!! Tonight’s dinner was also beyond AMAZING…as every dinner at Kurts Steakhouse always is…but tonight’s dinner was one for the books! From the fresh breaded cheese curds, the rich and creamy lobster bisque, cheesy and robust French onion soup, the perfectly chilled crisp veggie salads and the melt in your mouth never ending basket of rolls…I also had…the BEST steak I have EVER had!! A 9oz coffee crusted manhattan cut with a Brie cheese sauce and the famous Parmesan potatoes, then there was the Crab crusted Chilean sea bass with a pomodoro beurre blanc sauce, and the classic petite filet Oscar style…and topped off the evening with a happy birthday dessert platter!! If you’re looking for the perfect celebration or the perfect Wisconsin style supper club…Kurt’s is the place to be!

Totally surprised by this place, first time being here, it was a Friday night, I got done working 12 hours, and just wanted a fish fry and this was on my way home. It was 830pm and a wait for 2 still, would make reservations, wait was quick. Our waitress was simply amazing, lobster bisque soup was awesome, fish fry one of the best I've had. For the type of place, I'd say the prices were good only 2 items stood out as overly expensive on the menu. For sure going back to try the seafood Alfredo. South african lobster tail tried on 03/31/2023 was really good first time having one loved it 11/23/2024 mushroom truffle soup was probably the best soup I've ever had. Streak was good but burnt a hair on the ends, but that's how some people like it, like my mother. And the dinner rolls are the best. And I got some to go cause now I'm excited to go eat them

I have been coming to Kurt's since their now 5oz steak costing $45.00 was a 6oz costing $10.00. Yes a long time. But tonights dining experience was a true disappointment. Our drink at the bar was as usual, great. Nice bar tender and excellent old fashion. However once being seated things changed due to our waitress. Our order was taken but she neglected to bring our bread basket which we had to ask for . Our salads were served and then the wait for our dinner started. We waited and we waited and finally I asked where is our dinner. Our waitress replied the cook is working on it. While we sat waiting others who were seated after us were being served their dinners. Finally after over a long 20 minute wait our dinners were served. I then asked for a cup of coffee which I never was served. Now as mentioned my patronizing Kurt's has been for many many years and the reason being the quality of food. Tonight's steak was different. We both ordered the 5oz steak and both steaks were so uniform in size and appearance looking like they were sliced like you slice liver sausage and with a texture so unlike a butcher bought steak was noticed. I have read and heard they now have prossesed glued steak and if I didn't know any better that is what I believe we were served. I have been eating steak at Kurt's for many years and this steak did not compare to the steaks Kurt's has served me in the past. From standing room only on a Saturday night to no reservations needed on a Saturday night tells me others must have noticed the change also. It is often spoken "all good things come to and...

So so sad. My husband took me to Kurt's again for my birthday last night. We were just there for our anniversary in early March and the change from March was like night and day. First, the usual long wait at the bar before our table was ready. We actually like that, as we can each have a drink while waiting. But they were packed last night which does not help explain what happened next. We get to our table. I noticed no table coverings (maybe I was wrong?) Waitress came over (she recognized us as we are regulars) and immediately commented on the menu which had been paired down to 2 steak entrees (my usual petite filet was gone, :( ...) and she said it was due to lack of employees to work there, a supply chain issue, etc., and was only temporary. Our usual calamari was no longer on the "Starters" menu (there were only 4 choices there). Only 3 rolls with dinner (so not 4 ... we had to split the 3rd one). I'm just pointing out differences since March, NOT since the Pandemic began. Next, their au gratin potatoes (our favorite) were not on the menu (only some instant garlic like potatoes, which I had). I did not want to even order a steak as their filet was now $55?????? I had the orange roughy. Also no longer was a side salad an option; if you wanted a salad you had to pay an additional $7 or $8. My wine was the same as ever, very good, but I guess it's hard to go wrong on wine, and their liquor prices have always been reasonable. Sadly we will not be returning to Kurt's (and we have always recommended them to others...

I will say that I liked nearly everything about this very good value steakhouse. My petit filet mignon was a good quality, good value at $12.95 which included the salad or soup and the fried house rolls. It was a very good tasting tender piece of meat. The service is average or slightly above (a bit slow, in responsiveness). The drinks and prices are where you won't have to take out a mortgage to pay for the bill. The decor or atmosphere is dark as in NO natural light unless you're lucky enough to get seated in the "sun room". No doubt that they stay extremely busy. Go earlier (i.e. 5 - 5:30 pm), and not on Sat. night. One annoying thing I find abhorrent, is being forced to used their valet parking. I wrote to them and let them know my disdain for being dictated to like that. That's like telling me when and how I should tip? Shouldn't that be left up to a customer and NOT them? Add to that, I don't want someone strange driving my car. I haven't heard back from them yet. I'd give them perhaps 4 stars if it weren't for that aspect of lack of customer service. Expect good food and drinks at a fair affordable price, a very noisy, small dark & dingy place with reasonable service. Oh... And, be ready to tip the valet driver whether you...
