FULL PARTY MUST BE PRESENT TO BE SEATED! RECOMMEND ARRIVING EARLY AS PLACE FILLS UP QUICK! $$$-$$$ (prices will vary due to seafood cost inflation). A highly recommended location for any seafood lovers or those with kids traveling through Rehoboth and yes, they do have items for non seafood lovers! Though the menu has changed considerably over 10 years with BFRG acquiring more and more diversified restaurants in the Rehoboth, Lewes, and Wilmington area, the core and unique dishes for the Big Fish Grill remain the best and most flavorful parts of the menu. Personally, not a fan of their recent adaptations of Asian to the traditional menu (being a huge fan of cross fusion dishes myself) finding out the over diversified menu is beginning to lack quality. Shout-out to the desert team for fantastic and flavorful concoctions each time! Favorite appetizer: Calamari Favorite meal: Grilled shrimp or Pecan Crusted Grouper with Mashers and stewed tomatoes. Favorite dessert: Bread pudding or a slice of Peanut Butter Pie. Ps. When visiting the restaurant be sure to look at the fish board to the right when you walk in for the day's specials!

TLDR: Overpriced and overrated, disappointing. Came here for dinner on a Wednesday night. Long wait outside the door, but we had a reservation with our larger party. It took a while to get our orders placed. It’s a busy restaurant, so the staff is usually pretty busy. Our food took a pretty long time to come out. I measure service by how long it takes for them to fill up my water once empty and it took a long time here. Bruschetta (10/10): Great appetizer. The bread was crispy and the tomatoes tasted great. The combination was great. Shrimp Penne (6/10): Not really that good, imo. I found the sauce to have an odd taste (my GF compared it to burnt toast). It was very creamy. The description said it was a “light homemade lobster sauce” but I really don’t think it tasted anything along the lines of that. Special lobster pasta (7/10): Decent but felt like the sauce was missing something. I think the seasoning was lacking. The seafood in this dish tasted fresh, but again the sauce had more to be desired. Chicken tenders (kids menu, 1/10): One of the kids at our table complained about the tenders being bad and so he offered for me to taste one. I was really shocked as to how bad they really were. At a higher end restaurant like this, you’d really expect more. The crust was burnt. The chicken was EXTREMELY dry, like it tasted like they put the chicken in a dehydrator and then cooked it. The fries were pretty good though, but they were standard, tasted identical to buffalo wild wings. Filet (3/10): Depressing meal. The steak was dry and looked sad on the plate. I could tell it wasn’t going to taste good from the looks since it looked dried out. Steak that I cook at my house is 10x better and that’s sad to say since when I go out I want to taste food that’s better than what I can cook. Mashed potatoes were great and the gravy was unique and delicious. Crab cake that came with the meal was a disgrace… Added like $15 for a crab cake with a diameter of 2 inches… Definitely not worth it at all. In conclusion, I will not be returning. This place wasn’t worth the money at all. The food was just disappointing. Food took way too long to come out. And service was slow. Wouldn’t recommend. Over hyped. And I thought the presentation of the food was not good at all.

Nice large restaurant with fish decor everywhere. We had a large group of 8 and came a little after 5 on a Friday night and were seated right away. Quite loud inside and hard to hear each other. As we were looking over the menus, a small platter of packaged crackers and smoked tuna fish dip was served for the table. It was just okay and most of our group didn't go for it. The menu has a very large variety of fish and seafood, which was awesome. They have everything from raw bar, fried/grilled/broiled/baked seafood, to salads, burgers, pasta, chicken, and steak. The specials menu also has so many options, it's another main menu in itself. I love having options and variety, but this was quite overwhelming. What was really nice was that they had a dairy free menu, which was perfect for one in our group with a dairy allergy. After much deliberation, I chose a cashew crusted Icelandic cod served with a coconut sauce and rice. That was all delicious. For my side, I chose creamed spinach, which was was served in a small condiment cup that was mostly runny cream with sparse bits of spinach. It was basically a spinach sauce presented as a side dish, so I was very disappointed with that. To get my veggie fix I bummed a few bites of lettuce from someone's salad side which was a much better serving size. Though, his sauteed spinach side was also served in a little condiment cup. I also saw others with sides of fries and a cheesy baked potato dish which looked much better. Wishing I got that cheesy potato dish instead for my side, but I really wanted some veggies to go with my meal, which I didn't really get anyway. The worst thing though was after ordering off the dairy free menu, my dairy free companion was served a salad with cheese in it. They brought it back out again without cheese but then added tomatoes when it was ordered without tomatoes. At that point, he just figured he'll pick the tomatoes out instead of sending back again. They also forgot the fruit salsa for his fish. Others in our group seemed to enjoy their meals, so it's hit or miss depending on what you order. I would give this place another try but would figure out the best things to order ahead of time.

My experience began over the phone starting my reservation and then when we came to the restaurant it got better. Sydney was a wonderful waitress and made sure we were taken care of. I got the Big Surf and Turf, it was an 8 oz sirloin and 4 oz cold water lobster tail. It was and was a decent meal for the price; it is on the pricey side but the food was mediocre. I am a food enthusiast and not only do I enjoy eating at restaurants but I love cooking. However, it was the best restaurant in Dewey Beach. The lobster tails was good. The Brussels had no seasonings. Now here is an area of improvement: after eating my tail I noticed that my steak was well done and I requested medium. Sydney was busy and I looked at the gentleman who was working the sushi bar (tall guy) and he motioned to Scott (pink shirt) who told him I motioned for assistance, but Scott wanted to ignore me and refused to come over and assist. He clearly was not a team player and didn’t care about customer service. So I had to wait an addition 10 minutes until Sydney assisted. Poor experience. Next time Scott...help the customer!!!! Overall, I was pleased with the beverages, the hostess, and Sydney. The food wasn’t the best (especially for the price) and I have traveled many many places but it is the best in the area.

Unfortunately, the reviews were incorrect. I found this place based on the reviews thinking it will be good. I was around the area to have good fresh oysters. When I received the oysters, they didn't look fresh but I thought I might be wrong until I tasted then they kind of tasted weird. I got a dozen and my daughter and I had oysters thinking they are okay. Her spaghetti was awful too. There was so much less sauce. My dish tasted very weird too. I know how scallops taste like and it was awful interesting taste. And only 4 small scallops for over $20 meal? Also, it was very chewy. If you cook scallops wrong they can be chewy and obviously this restaurant doesn't know how to cook. The server named Kelly wasn't good either. She went to visit other tables very often but came only few times to our table. It made me think she's purposely doing that to us. What did we do to you to serve us like this? I wasn't rude customer or complain at all! I DID nothing! Both my daughter and I got really sick from eating those oysters! We both had diarrhea, and vomits. My daughter is still sick from the food. She's still throwing up. This is one of the worst restaurant I've ever been.
