Brookside Country Maid Deli — Restaurant in Delaware

The food here is good, but the service is just lacking.

I placed an online order for pickup through doordash (I will never trust a doordash driver after watching a driver pick up an order from Wawa, take it in the bathroom with them, and set it on the floor while they took a dump).

I get the alert that the order is ready, so my girlfriend and I head in to pick it up. There are two people ahead of us. The lady working the register finishes up with the first lady, then takes the second person's order, then she just walks away never to return.

In comes a doordash driver who stands all the way at the end of the counter. An Asian guy comes out, walks right past us, straight to him and when I said we've been standing here waiting they both just ignored us and ignored the fact that we've been standing there waiting for ten minutes. Meanwhile our order is sitting on the shelf getting colder and colder. My gf yells back there can we just have our order.

tl;dr staff completely ignored us the entire time we were standing there. Skipped us to go give a doordash driver their order then walked right past us while standing at the register this whole time. Waited over ten minutes and had to get ignorant just to get our order that was sitting five feet away from us the entire time.

I enjoyed their food but won't be back as I will not support a business that treated us this way. Time is money, and disrespect is...

All I can say is please don’t eat from here!! I had a turkey ham hoagie and it made me sick & when I say sick I’m not pretending or making this up. I honestly was down for two days after eating from here, didn’t know which end anything was going to come out of & that’s as far as I’ll go with the results of eating from here. The meat HAD to be bad or old. This was the ONLY thing I ate that day outside of the normal things I eat, all I could say was this is why I rather cook than to eat out. I literally had to call off of work because I didn’t know which ends things were coming out, this was a horrible experience. I believe it says they open at 9 I ordered my food a little after 11 so it raises many questions to me.. Was the meat out since the time they opened up? Was the meat out from the night before? Was the meat out for weeks? I mean it’s so many questions… I can speak on the service and how I was the only person in the store and it took 10 minutes to actually take my order 5 of those minutes were actually being acknowledged 🤷🏽‍♀️ then to actually pay it took another 3,4 minutes for the guy to figure out what type of hoagie I had and another 4 minutes to find it on the register to ring me up🤦🏽‍♀️ overall JUST DONT...

Sold me a gallon of sour milk and refused to take it back. Also yesterday I ordered 4 cheesteaks and upon opening at home they turned out to be 4 cold subs not cheesteaks. Went to take the subs back and they not only refused to take them back but lied and told me I did order 4 American hoagies and not the cheeseteaks I actually had ordered. They also seem to buy all of they're items from the dollar General store on the shelf and Mark the price up. Complete ripoff and piss poor overall customer service. The one lady that took my order seemed to be on some sort of downers and was high. DO NOT GO HERE extremely horrible experience and customer service. Save your money and go somewhere else there are plenty of good shops around the area. AVOID...
