Crab Barn — Restaurant in Delaware

I repeat DO NOT let loved ones come here without a designated driver that is responsible! Here is the story. Me and my 16 y.o daughter decided to go for dinner and while there there was a commotion and a patron sitting by the door yelled a guy almost crashed thru the front doors. We both ran out and thank God he made it within a few feet of the door b.c instead of putting it in reverse and backing out of his spot he was obviously and smelled of alcohol. He was an older gentleman which is sad they would overserve him and let him drive in his condition and put countless others in jeopardy including me and my daughter who were the 3rd table from the door! I immediately called the police telling then what happened and thank God he hit a large pot with dirt in it and they asked me to get his license plate # etc which I did and tried to get him not to he able to leave and the police dispatch stayed on with me as now the bartender with short blond hair starts yelling at me to hang up as it is over since someone else was going to drive. The police dispatch said not to hang up as a trooper is on the way and heard everything she was yelling at me about! The trooper got there and thanked me immensely and said he wishes he could have gotten there faster and that I did the right thing. He went and spoke with her but because the man left he had no legal authority to do anything unfortunately. He told me I should warn others and that is why I'm doing this. I'm sure now this will be watched more now. Disgusting that she just didn't want to get in trouble b.c she could have just easily called a cab etc 4 him! Then to yell at me in front of other customers and while im on the phone with the police! Ruined my night but maybe I saved someone else from getting hurt b.c of this man being Overserved! Recommend you try after lack of regard for people that you try many of our good...

Run!! Very disorganized!! This is the first review good or bad I have ever written because I have worked in the restaurant business my whole life and know sometimes things happen but this place was so bad I just had to write a review. Three other tables and took us 1-1/2 hours to finally get food. The appetizers and meals came out at same time. My poor grand daughter was so hungry I asked for a roll and got a hamburger bun and that’s what she ate. Food finally came out as I was about to ask for the check so we could leave. So we boxed it up and came home. The French fries were so raw had the throw them away along with the baked potato that was hardly cooked. The potato salad was absolutely disgusting. So with the easy things being so bad I was wondering if we should even try the entree courses. Well let me tell you my family has been in the seafood business since 1969 and I have never tasted crab imperial so bad..if you like crab, excessive mayo and old bay then this is the place for you. Had a good amount of crab meat but it was all mayonnaise. I would be ashamed to serve this. I can only imagine what Gordon Ramsey would say if he ate there..lol Now we are just praying we don’t wake up in the morning with food poisoning. A good thing is that the waitress was very pleasant and kept apologizing but they need to have better management and a good cook if they are going to stay in business after this summer. Don’t see it lasting long with the service and food that we had tonight with only three tables I cannot imagine how they manage on a busy night with all the tables filled. Was vacationing nearby and picked this place for the price of ayce crabs and the fact that when I called the gentlemen that answered was nice on the phone. Well, when we showed up we decided to sit outside with our large group (7). We pre looked at the menu and basically knew what we were getting. The waitress was with us after maybe 15mins. We ordered drinks and luckily she put in two appetizers (one of which we received before deciding to go elsewhere). Our drinks, bar drinks, and kids drinks didn’t come out until only a few minutes AFTER our 50ct clams came out. Drinks were mediocre. Clams were also, but we devoured them in minutes. We still had yet to put our order in and she informed that she was by herself. We waited. And waited. And finally came to the conclusion to leave for another restaurant not wanting to spend any more money here. One from our group went in to find the waitress to get our receipt to pay and I went inside to use the bathroom. I saw many people, tables empty and as I was heading back outside another group was barging out saying they never even got to place their drink orders after 30 or so minutes. We left and went to Crabby Dicks where we had EXCELLENT service despite waiting 45mins for a table, a cook leaving mid shift(our waitress was the manager stepping up to help). Very sad we wasted $100 on drinks and clams and 2hours of our evening. Don’t ever feel weird about leaving and going somewhere else. So...
