Longneck Deli — Restaurant in Delaware

I'm always looking for a great pizza steak sub so when we were in the area visiting with friends before heading home from the beach we decided to stop for a quick lunch after reading all the great reviews online. It was well after 1 when I called in my order and I have to admit I was a little surprised to see how busy the place was when I arrived to pick up my order. The place is nothing to look at - inside or out - and if not for reading in another review that the place was in a strip mall behind the bank I never would have found it. They were still working on my order when I got there so I had a chance to check out their refrigerator cases (stocked with lots of goodies from Amish country) and seeing a brown bag filled with fresh kaiser rolls in front of the deli case brought back memories of going to the local market with my grandmother, they even had a barrel of pickles. In addition to my sub I grabbed a pint of Amish bbq lima beans and sweet pickled cucumbers (both were delicious) along with a couple of drinks (pretty psyched they had Cheerwine but wish they had fountain sodas or at least some straws - I was taken aback when I asked for them and the woman working the register told me they don't have them anymore because people were using them to do drugs). The 12" overstuffed sub was more than enough for both hubby and I and very good - I can be very picky when it comes to Pizza Steaks and theirs is excellent. The prices are good - under $9 for a 12" sub and they don't gauge prices on the sodas and juices either - and the staff is friendly and fast. We would probably go back but being left with the impression that the area is frequented by addicts and miscreants means we won't be stopping...

I agree with the other one star review, I wish there was a zero star option.

Terrible. Why are there even hours? No one is there at 4p and the closed sign is up with the hours going until 5p. Dinner time seems like the worst time to close. Can't wait for a real business to take over. One that actually is open and knows how to handle customer service (answering the phones).

To the owners: take a business class and hospitality class. There is a million dollar business opportunity that is being flushed down the toilet. Just close and sell to some one who knows what they are doing. You are taking up perfectly good real estate that could be used for a quality place.

Never will go there and will tell everyone I know to avoid the waste of time.

Been hearing how good the hoagies are from this place so we decided to take the 35 minute drive from Bethany to try them out. Most places in the Bethany/Rehoboth area do not make a good Philly style sandwich, we've tried many. Well, Long Neck Deli hit a home run on this one!!! The Supreme Italian Hoagie was perfection. It was loaded with good Italian meats, perfectly sliced and the veggies were completely fresh. The size of their large was huge....mind-blowing actually, 18", wow! It was so big I could only eat half, the other half will be tomorrow's dinner. The Cheese Steak was just as good, filled completely with great tasking chip steak and no fatty gristle, a big plus. My daughter was very impressed with her Cheese Hoagie, cheese on both the top and the bottom of the roll, just like it should be and not overstuffed with vegetables like other places.
