I recently visited a crab house that promised a delightful seafood experience but fell drastically short of expectations. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was uninviting, with a musty smell and outdated decor that did nothing to enhance the dining experience.
The service, while adequate, did little to compensate for the overall disappointing experience. Although the servers were polite and moderately attentive, the food was the main issue.
When the food arrived, it was a major letdown. The crab, which should have been the star of the show, was overcooked and lacked the fresh, succulent flavor one would expect from a seafood restaurant. Portions were meager, especially considering the exorbitant prices. Side dishes were bland and unimaginative, clearly prepared without any attention to quality or taste.
To add insult to injury, the meal was vastly overpriced for what we received. The cost did not reflect the subpar quality of the food. It felt like we were being charged premium prices for a dining experience that was far from premium.
Upon leaving, we encountered an unsettling situation in the restroom. Someone was sick and throwing up, which added to the overall unpleasantness of the visit and raised concerns about the restaurant's cleanliness and food safety standards.
Overall, this crab house was a terrible disappointment. Adequate service couldn't redeem the poor food quality, outrageous prices, and concerning hygiene issues. Save your money and find a seafood restaurant that delivers on...
Read moreThis may be the last time we visit Crab House. Food was good. Love the food. I was served the wrong lobster entree, was looked upon with suspicion when I returned it. I didn't make a stink, it happens and I was too hungry to care. When the GM came to apologize on his own for the mixup and freshen up our drinks, only 1 of the 2 beers ordered came to the table. We were charged for both. When I corrected the waitress I was given the same look of disbelief. She removed the drink and gave me the proper bill, I handed her my card and the receipt that returned minutes later still had that never served beer on it. So the beer we never got was added BACK onto the bill in their system after the bill had been corrected. She offered to fix it and I just said forget it so we could get out of there. Felt shady, like they actually thought we were trying to take them for a 3 dollar beer on a 250 buck bill. It wasn't that busy. Compounding small mistakes can ruin the course of a meal and this is sadly not the first time Crab House has let us down. The food was good. The kitchen has it together. The wait staff and management seem to be a continuous issue as the first time we had a bad experience was about 5 years ago. There are too many strong competitiors to give them yet...
Read moreSo, how to start .. my family have been eating at the Crab House in Rehoboth every year on vacation for years. We absolutely loved it and looked forward to it each time . However , this time was so much more than disappointing. I can’t even find the perfect word for how horrible our experience was . First the music from the bar area was so loud that we couldn’t even have a conversation with each other . I absolutely LOVE crab legs …. NOT this time . They were soooo overcooked you couldn’t break the shell right to even get the meat out. You had to shred it with your fingernails . The most of the meat crumbled. The rest stuck to the shell. My husband gave up after not even 1/4 of his crab legs . VERY disappointing. The side choices also weren’t as good as they used to be. How do you not serve baked potatoes with seafood . Potato salad ?? What is this a diner ?? Not for these prices !! My broccoli with coated with pepper . I had to dig under to reach some that I could actually eat . The only thing that was good was the cornbread … which most nice restaurants you get WITH your meal you don’t have to pay separate for it!! Hate to say it , but not returning …. Very...
