Metro Diner — Restaurant in Delaware

I did online ordering and went to pick it up. When I arrived I was greeted by Mercedes, who by her tone and attitude needed to be assigned to another duty within the restaurant. I arrived home with my order which is about 15 min to my home in evening traffic. I had ordered the Chicken and Waffles, which has always been my favorite. I was just getting home from a long appt so I was hungry. I opened the waffle, noting the overhanging well done part of the waffle and prepared it with butter and the famous Strawberry butter. The waffle was was found to be less done then the overhang that was burned. I then lifted the lid to the container with the chicken to find the Breast and the thigh burned. At first I was going to take it on the chin as the thought of going back out..... but as I kept looking at this mess I decided to get a refund. I attempted to call the restaurant several times before leaving and all it did was ring. When I got in my car I called again and was placed on hold for so long I just hung up. When I arrived I waited for a manager and I spoke to someone who was not listed as management on the web site. I explained my dissatisfaction with meal, showing the burned chicken that was described by the ??? Manager as "well done". I was offered a replacement meal which I declined and requested a refund with the charge being reversed on my card. So not only am I disappointed as I have always frequently visited since their opening, I know have to wait 7-10 days for the refund to process. I'm just saying, check your meal before leaving. Where is the wheelbarrow? This is our first trip, definitely not the last. The portions are huge. The selection of food isn't gigantic but it is somewhat different from the everyday "diner" variety. The building isn't real big, you can look right back into the kitchen, as a matter of fact, there is a counter that you can sit at and watch them cook while you eat. Bathroom was clean...noise level wasn't as loud as one would think. We had a 30 minute wait on a Sunday around 11:45. Staff was friendly and service was quick once we were seated. This gets four stars instead of five because most of the food was great but the standard food was just okay...bacon was just limp boring bacon and the sausage biscuits and gravy we're bland/flour-ie? The soup, however, is the most flavourable soup I have had, probably ever. I don't know how anyone could eat a whole plate of Chicken and Waffles. We didn't order any but I saw plenty of plates full of them going by. it looked like big fluffy waffles and and 3 fried chicken breasts! Oh, and topped with their famous strawberry butter.

Disappointed. Went in got sitting about 5 minutes after arriving. Sat in seat for about 15minutes before anyone came over to acknowledge I was there. Waitress comes and ask if anyone helped me yet and to find out who's the waiter/waitress. After she finds out, she tells me who my waitress will be and ask what drink I would like and serves me my drink. She brings my cranberry juice and straw. I sit there another 15 before my waitress finally comes over and takes my order. I order my food and sit around watching the environment. The to go orders were going out faster than the in Restaurant orders. Some waiters were hustling and getting customers orders out but my waitress seem confused and overwhelmed walking back and forth. Some customers that came in after me had received their meals and I was still seating there waiting for my order. I kept looking at my watch and realized I was there 30 minutes and still no food.
