Tokyo Express — Restaurant in Brookside

Tokyo Express is my little piece of heaven! There food is absolutely exceptional!!!! The food is always cooked to perfection. Not greesy at all.very healty. There vegetables are so delicious! They deliver if you're within a 5 mile radius:) They have the best Japanese cuisine in Delaware from my experience!!! Tokyo Express is my most favorite place to order take-out from. And it's reasonably priced. Good healthy quality food. There sushi is to die for! You must try there "FRIED SALMON ROLLS" & there "STEAK HIBACHI BOWL!!!" I'm always recommending Tokyo Express to all my friends & family & they all fall in love & are immediately hooked! It's always a special treat to dine out w/Tokyo Express! I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for authentic Japanese cuisine! They have the best Japanese cuisine in the tri-state area by far! I've never experienced such great food from anywhere else that offers Japanese cuisine. They no what there doing! And they prepare your food super-D duper QUICK! Usually I call and place my order and then I immediately head out to pick it up that's how fast it's prepared. No matter what you order it only usually takes them at tops 10 to 15 mins to prepare it for you! There absolutely awesome. They offer great customer service. There's always someone to great you at the counter...

This was our regular sushi spot for three years. We lived within walking distance, so the two days Delaware had nice weather, we would walk over to pick up our call-in an order.

Service is always super quick which was nice, but the employees could be a little friendlier. You could tell they were busy because it showed in their attitude, especially if you had a question about the menu.

Regardless, my husband and I always return to visit when we fly back home. This is the only place I've been able to find sushi options with oshinko and smokes the salmon. So many places (where we currently live) only offer it ”by request.” And I usually have to explain what oshinko is, or it's not offered at all.

When we lived in Delaware, we ordered from Tokyo Express at least once a week. Now that my parents live in the area, they are now regular weekly customers. Definitely worth trying if...

Ordered here on a whim, as I was in Newark helping a friend with something and we decided to grab some sushi for a late lunch before heading back home. It should be noted that we both each sushi often, and have some reasonable standards of what "good sushi" tastes like. Figured this place would be decent considering the consistently high reviews, but we were incredibly disappointed with our meals.

Service was friendly and fast for a call-in to-go order (5 stars), but the sushi itself wasn't great. We ordered 6 different rolls and the reviews for each range from downright terrible (spicy tuna, 0 stars) to mediocre at best (eel avocado & eel cucumber, 3 stars). Ordered the Frank's roll upon recommendation from one of the other Google reviews-- that's a 2 star, in my opinion.
