I used to work in the same plaza from 2015-2018. I went here religiously for lunch at least 2 times a week. I always ordered the veggie gyro and treated myself with baklava for dessert. Same thing, every time. So much so that the sweet woman who worked there knew my name and order and knew when it was me on the phone without me even saying who it was! Now...apparently they have changed ownership. This is the disappointment of my life (dramatic, I know) but I can be a picky eater every now and again and when I'm in the mood for something, it is the only thing I will eat. Last time I ordered from here (about 2 weeks ago, I called it in, sent the bf to pick up) I ordered my usual and expected my usual delicious gyro. Well...not so much. They have now started using real pickles (former owners used pickled peppers but called them "pickles" which I was totally fine with because they tasted so good). Anyway, now they put real pickles on it and it tastes so weird. It's not a hamburger. It was still edible but decided to not order it anymore. Then yesterday I wanted to give them one more try. This time I went there myself to see what was up. Didn't recognize a single person working there. I asked the girl taking orders if they changed ownership because last time I ordered it was different. She said they did change. So I figured well, let me try the baklava to see if that was still good. NOPE. It was AWFUL. Smaller portion, more money, tasted horrible. In fact, it was inedible. I ate half and threw the other half away (that never happens...). Long-winded, I know. But I am very disappointed. Now there is nowhere for me to get a good veggie gyro and the best baklava I've ever...
Read moreMy dealings with Gyro King began when I was eager to try out the food. * My actual first attempt to eat here failed, the google map was not correct but it has since been corrected *Visit # 1, I ordered food by phone and when I arrived it was not ready. I was on a 30 minute lunch break, this proved inconvenient. On the second visit, I was encouraged to get a soda and fries with my order, but the soda was expired by 3 months. I returned and was offered to swap the soda which I appreciated, upon doing so I noticed about 1/3 of the soda inventory was expired. These sodas were promptly cleared out within 2 hours. I went back once again and had a successful experience, then didn't go for a few months. Most recently, Trip # 4 was on a rainy day and the floors in the establishment were wet and extremely slippery, actually a friend and I both stumbled upon walking in. I commented to the owner it would be a good idea to put mats in the store. Visit # 5 was a 1 no hassle walk in lamb gyro order, food was good (as usual) My # 6 and sadly last visit, I received a Gyro in the usual brown bag, it had some blood smeared on it, I also had a small spot of blood inside the Gyro. I called the establishment and described the issue, the guy on the phone apologized. At this point I decided it was stupid to continue trying, I will not seek a refund for my food (nor did I ever), I consider it charity...
Read moreMy order was over a half an hour late and missing a sauce that I ordered. When I called the restaurant to explain the missing sauce the lady was EXTREMELY rude and kept talking over me when all I wanted was for the driver to come back with the sauce I ordered. She said she would send it out when another order went out but could not give me a time for when I would get my sauce, insinuating that it would be a long time for me to get it. I said this was unacceptable because I had my food now and wanted to eat it now, and I had already ordered and paid for it. I asked her what can be done and she said nothing it was only a .50 sauce. Which is true but it is a sauce that I ORDERED AND PAID FOR AND DID NOT RECEIVE. No compensation was offered and I will not be ordering there again. That woman should not be answering phones. All of this is very unfortunate because I had always...
