We have had great experiences with both food and service in the past, we like to frequent the dining room on Fridays, which we know and understand can get very busy. Upon being sat and greeted we already had our food picked out and asked to order when greeted at our table. We ordered one basket of fries, a small pizza w no cheese and a large sausage and mushroom pizza. After 45 minutes of waiting I approached the server stand to ask about our order. At that same time the table next to us, who sat down 15 minutes after we did, received what looked to be their appetizers. I questioned the wait for at least the basket of fries and then questioned why thr table next us received their food ahead of ours. Approximately 10 minutes later a different server than ours approached our table and communicated "we have a new server and she shouldn't have told you that we could put a rush on a fry order on a Friday night, it's just not possible on Fridays" and that the table next to us had placed their app order at the bar some time ago. We were informed at that time our food would be ready in 4-5 minutes. 15 minutes later, table next to us receives their full dinner order and then shortly after our food arrived approximately 75 minutes after ordering it. The explanation given to us by the "experienced" server was rude and just a very poor excuse. When you mess up just own it and apologize. We were made to feel like we should have known that fries can't be rushed. I'm sorry, but working in the food industry, dropping a basket of fries should be one of the most seamless things to do on a Friday evening for an appetizer. Thank you for the great past experiences, unfortunately this one will stick for quite a while. Please set expectations properly next time when waits are expected to be that long...or if an order doesn't get placed properly. All said and done we took our food to go...
Read moreI am so glad I have friends that can usher me around at times. When I roll into Delaware I have a list of restaurants I want to try. And to be honest Shortys had never made it onto my list. I had a lunch meeting scheduled and I had thrown out a suggestion that had been vehemently shot down - and then Shortys was offered up. It was one I hadn’t thought of, and I said why not? I am so happy that I discovered this gem. Two of us at the table were indecisive about which sub to order so we decided to each get one and share half of each. I am a food sharer, and this worked out perfectly. I had leaned toward the Italian sub, but I got the also have the Cuban. It is a sub, so it isn’t pressed ,but every other part of that sandwich was PERFECT! And since I mentioned sharing, I will note that the friend who suggested this place ordered the Reuben pizza. It was delicious and she knew to order extra house-made thousand island dressing. A perfect complement. Couldn’t have been happier...
Read moreThe pizza wasn't bad, but wasn't very good either. Definitely missing toppings. Crust was a tad thicker and chewy, not crisp. It was also rather bland tasting, possible frozen dough which is fine, but just not a good crust imo. Sauce was good, but the cheese was also bland as were the pepperoni. I much prefer other pizza places around Columbus and the metro. The sub was very ham forward, could not taste the salami or pepperoni (actually couldn't find the pep and it says it's on the sandwich via the menu description). While not really part of my scoring, they included chips that looked like Ruffles, but weren't as they didn't taste the same and were stale. Wings were a good size and cooked well, but the spicy garlic was an odd glaze of sorts...so not a favorite or even something I'll look forward to in the future. Everything was pretty expensive too. My family will not...
