Subject: Ongoing Concerns with Food Quality and Service
Wilmington Diner I’ve been ordering from this restaurant since mid-March 2025, and initially, everything was great. I regularly ordered two omelets with home fries, and while there was an issue early on with the home fries not being fried crispy as requested, I was willing to overlook it. However, over time, the quality of the food and service has noticeably declined, which has led to increasing frustration.
To give you an idea of my concerns:
Home Fries: No matter how many times I asked for the home fries to be fried crispy, they consistently arrived soggy and not as requested. It's disappointing to not have a simple request fulfilled, especially after multiple attempts.
Omelets: At the beginning, the omelets were always fluffy and delicious, but recently, they’ve become overcooked and tough. It's now difficult to even cut through them with a fork.
Pork Chops: On one occasion, I found the pork chops to have an unusual taste. When I brought this to your attention, I didn’t ask for compensation, just for the issue to be corrected. Unfortunately, the response was to offer a credit, I simply wanted my food prepared correctly.
Scrapple Fries: My fiancé enjoys your scrapple fries, and we had requested them to be crispy. The first time, they were perfect, but the second time, they were mushy, which was disappointing.
I called several times to express my concerns, and while I did receive a credit for the first issue, I explained that I didn’t want compensation—just for the food to be made as requested. However, during my last call on April 8th 2025, i spoke to a woman who claimed that she was the manager and express to me that., I would no longer be served at your restaurant. This response, instead of an effort to resolve the issue, was frustrating and disheartening. I don’t understand why you would choose to refuse service rather than make the necessary adjustments.
I was always willing to be a loyal customer and give them a chance as I have noticed they're hiccups from time to time because I have enjoyed some of the food cooked in the past, and had hope that eventually they would get it right. So I would just express my concerns from time to time.Letting them note what I thought about the food and with just ask them to make sure that it doesn't happen next time but apparently they still couldn't get it right after numerous complaints about certain items on their menu
but these recent experiences have made me question what is really going on inside their establishment. instead of recusing to do future business with me.Why wouldn't a businedd just work towards rectifying the issues. This restaurant needs to work towards improving both the quality of the food customer service and being a more caring business.
I do not suggest anyone Do business with a company who is not willing to go above and beyond for their customers as an Ex business owner.I would never reject service to anyone, who was unhappy with the service and or product received.I would make a suggestion and say to my customer's. if you don't like How we're doing things here that I suggest you look for another place to eat.We strive to do our best but we will work on it in the future.
This business is very unprofessional and non caring it has no consistency in a way to prepare a meals. One minuteThe food's greatThe next minute you're asking yourself where did this food come from. I know I just called wilmington diner.lol
I will be reaching out to the better business bureau.. This can't go on and i'm not gonna let another customer fall victim to what happened to...

I was at the diner this morning. Our first choice was George's Diner, right down the road. It was 9:45 a.m. and the parking lot was packed, so we decided to go to Marsh Road Diner. The fact that by 10:00 a.m. on a Saturday, the place was empty, was a warning sign to me, having been in food service, and especially BREAKFAST food service. I had been there several times before and not been impressed at all, but figured since there was no wait.... Well, there's a reason for that. Long story short, our waitress was terrible. Taking over 7 minutes to even offer coffee, bringing out the WRONG order, not offering coffee refills, and LITERALLY SITTING WITH ANOTHER TABLE FOR 10 MINUTES after our "wrong" order was delivered. She never came to check on us. When we left, my husband told the manager about our experience and he could not have cared less. He didn't ask for details, apologize for our experience, or even offer to pay for our coffee as a result of our bad experience. I wouldn't even consider working here, as clearly, the management has no concern for customer service. My husband wrote an explanation on the check for why the tip was so low, which I'm sure they never read. There has been a sign outside for "help wanted" for well over a year - I'm looking for work at the moment and wouldn't even think about working there. I will never set foot in there again.
On top of that, the Women's room is disgusting, and there's a hand-printed sign saying to "Knock loudly - the lock doesn't work" - here's a thought - spend the $20 and FIX THE LOCK!!!
Now I know why at 10:00 on a SATURDAY MORNING - which is RUSH time if your a DINER, this place was empty. We'll gladly wait, and take our...
Read moreMy husband & I used to eat here practically every week prior to the Pandemic, which I would have rated 5 stars back then. The owner was always at the cash register & very accommodating. We have ordered take out from Marsh Road Diner 4 times in the last month. The food wasn’t bad, but inconsistent & the portions have shrunk considerably. They have overcharged us every time. When I picked up last week, she gave me cash out of the register after I brought the overcharge to her attention, & she also told me they were charging a extra $2.00 for takeout now. When my husband picked this week, the bill was much higher then I had anticipated. I went back to their online menu & added up our 2 dinners for a total of 32.98, minus the $2.00 discount for no dinner specials, which came to $30.98, plus $2.00 take out fee for a total bill of $32.98. Our credit card charge was $37.38, a overcharge of $7.60. I immediately called the diner & asked to speak to the owner, & was told he was not there, & rarely comes in anymore. I told the women, who claimed she was a manager, about the overcharge. She stated that they were now charging a 10% service fee for takeout ( not the $2.00 from the week before) & the meatloaf was. $1.00 more now. Even if I add 10% & a dollar more, I was still overcharged almost $3.00. It’s quite obvious the owners absent with waitresses running the diner, is NOT working. We will no longer give them...
