My first time going to this establishment was 314 day this Thursday, I actually left Js House of Music to meet my sister there to celebrate someone’s birthday, everything was nice and I liked the space and set-up, which I thought was nice when that location was another bar before this one. The night turned unpleasant once the owner decided to be very unpleasant to my sister. After we ate our food my sister got up to throw away our plates and wash her hands at the time the owner was standing there so she knew my sister was sitting there, when my sister came back she said excuse me this my seat, the owner then turned to look at me and the other young lady sitting next to me and said “did she say excuse me” I shook my head yes, now let’s keep in mind this was my first time at the establishment so we do not know whose the owner and she did not know who were related to who, she turn to my sister and told her she can sit in another chair another young lady at the table told her but she was sitting there, she then told that young lady “I’m finna get up mfer” she then turned around to my sister to inform her she own all the chairs in the building and the other young lady at the table then informed my sister she was the owner, the owner then turned to my sister and said you going to get another seat or a to go cup, my sister went and got a to go cup and left when my sister grabbed her umbrella the owner was standing up and started talking negatively about my sister while I was still sitting there once she realized I was staring at her she stopped talking in mid sentence I got up to leave, I have to say you were VERY RUDE & UNPROFESSIONAL TO BE A BUSINESS OWNER, Normally owners conduct themselves with class and lady likeness, like a true Boss woman and you did not represent yourself in a professional manner. I just want to advise you be careful of the people you are being rude and cocky too, because you have no idea who you are coming in contact with. Just keep in mind YOU ARE NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO OWNS A BUSINESS OR ANYTHING. GOD GIVETH AND HE TAKETH IT AWAY SO MAJOR WORD OF ADVICE LEARN HOW TO STAY PROFESSIONAL, normally those that own their own establishment have a table or seat strictly for them, you might need to invest in that and also make sure your clothes free of stains when you want to be cocky. I really hate you missed out on future business with us, because I’ve been looking for an establishment for my organization to support and do business with, but unfortunately I can not consider you for that very reason. I pray you take this as a learning experience to conduct your self in a more professional manner Ms. Demona (owner)
Thank you Very...
Read moreWhen I receive good service, I always leave a great review, and when service is lacking, I leave an honest one. This experience isn’t necessarily bad, but I do think there were some missed opportunities.
I first heard about Next Time Cafe through RealSTL News and went for lunch. It was amazing—the shrimp were hot and juicy, the potato salad was great, and the fries were perfect. The service was excellent, too. That’s why I decided to take my wife for dinner tonight. We love supporting businesses in North County, especially Black-owned ones.
When we arrived, we were greeted and seated right away. The waitress took our drink order—just water for my wife and a soda for me—and then came back to take our food order. We ended up waiting about 40 to 50 minutes for our food, and during that time, no one came to check on us or offer a refill on our water.
When the food finally came, it was disappointing. The shrimp were overcooked, the fries were too, and my wife’s Philly was way too salty. Even though we didn’t enjoy the meal, we still wanted to support the business. The owner kindly offered to cover the meal, but we insisted on leaving a tip for the waitress.
My suggestion would be to have whoever cooked my lunch prepare the meals consistently, and for the staff to make sure they’re checking in with customers during longer waits. A simple update on the food or a water refill would have made a big difference.
I hope you take this feedback to heart because I’d love to continue supporting your restaurant...
Read moreWell first and foremost I was at first having a nice time at Nexxt Time Cafe Until.....when we were done eating I got up from our table to throw away our plates and to wash my hands. When I returned to the table we were sitting at there was a lady sitting in my seat. I politely said excuse me ma'am but this is my seat and so did my friend, she also told her that it was my seat. My drink was still there on the table. The lady then said that she owns all of the seats In the bar. I at first didn't catch on until she said it again. But I'm like no. She preceded to say to me that I can go grab a chair from a different table. But I was still like no. I was never rude to her I got my to go cup and left. My friend and my sister also left. Regardless if you are the owner (Mona) of the bar. That was very rude of you. I was there to support Le Le for 314 day. I was also supporting/ patronizing your establishment. I'm out all the time and I have never had an experience like that with a bar owner. YOU WERE...
