Amazing place, off the radar of most, kinda hidden. Not your typical “theme” Mexican food. Dont judge by the basic interior decor. Different items on the menu. Small kitchen with true homemade foods. Homemade Salsa and chips. Be sure to ask for the homemade hot sauce, it’s not what you think. It has only a slight bit of heat, but the spices complement the food. I hate “hot sauce” but this stuff was amazing. I almost stole the entire bottle! Fajitas Mixtas were delicious. Again, not a typical theme type place with pre-made foods that is just heated up and served. Handmade Margaritas. Great, friendly service. A true diamond in the rough. I would go out of my way to come back again. Now, I NEVER leave reviews, good or bad. This place just amazed me. Next time, Chicken Mole’. For those that dont know about Mole’ its a thick chocolate based sauce, with many varieties of peppers and spices. Its not sweet. Every Chef makes it different and I can imagine Abuela in the back kitchen, making it from scratch. You gotta try this place. If you like the themed Mexican foods, you wont truly appreciate this homemade menu. Nuff said....
Read moreI'm at this restaurant right now and am very disappointed. The chips taste like "Fritos" corn chips, the pico de gallo looks more like what most places would call "salsa Fresca. " The "best margaritas in town"? We got a pitcher of frozen peach ($22) and I swear there can't be more than a couple shots of tequila in the whole thing. My wife and I get pitchers of the same thing ($15) at our favorite Mexican restaurant near our home and we both have a pretty good buzz going on with just one pitcher. This margarita is so weak we spent half our meal debating whether or not there was any alcohol at all in it and whether or not we should complain. So much for a happy ending to our weekend getaway.
The food (excluding the pico) is the closest thing to authentic I've had outside of Chicago, a little place north of Atlanta and southern California, New Mexico and Arizona. The best way to tell how authentic a place is? The number of Mexican patrons (all but two tables as I type this) and they have lingua and cabeza. If not for the margarita problem and the funky pico de gallo, I'd have given at...
Read moreI don’t know where to start.. first time here. As we were entering the restaurant the kitchen door was open. My eyes couldn’t believe it of how disgusting it was, and I clearly over heard a cook saying, more fu$&en people as he kicked a pot. We proceeded to have a seat, we grabbed a high chair, as usual I always wipe it down before I sit my baby on there. The wipe was gross! It literally seemed as if I would have cleaned the floors . At this point I’m very disappointed, and disgusted. Waitress came by and she seemed bothered and annoyed because she was busy. My husband and kids order their meals, I decided to skip dinner just because nothing was going right. And top everything off, there was more than a few flys over our table! You might be wondering why we didn’t leave asap. We had drove 2 hours to meet my husband’s brother that was in town for a few hours and we really didn’t want to go anywhere else. I will be calling the health department to report the cleanliness of...
