I attended a baby shower/gender reveal at Bianka Restaurants in Baton Rouge. The organizer of the event contacted the restaurant several months in advance to ask about hosting the occasion. She was instructed to arrange the event one week before it occurs and that a deposit would be necessary. She arrived at the restaurant one week early as instructed, prepared to make a deposit for her reservation. She was given a tour of the restaurant and selected the air-conditioned area on the upper floor, indicating that an additional table would be required for the gifts. When she asked about making the deposit payment, the representative replied that it was not required.
On the day of the event, we discovered that the upstairs area was apparently reserved by two different parties. The quality of customer service was extremely poor. To begin with, no apology was provided for the alleged double booking. We were not offered an accommodating seating area due to their mishap. We were placed in an area lacking ventilation where hookahs were in use. The waitress, Kapria, did not provide her name (I discovered her name after requesting an itemized receipt). Due to the heat in our seating area, she stated that she would get water for everyone. She did not take any drink orders. We had to request the menus, and while distributing them, Kapria mentioned that there weren't enough copies for everyone, suggesting that some of us use the QR codes that were on the table. The prices listed on the physical menus and the QR codes were inconsistent. When we asked if they could honor the lower price due to misleading information, they claimed they couldn't modify the costs. The table was never cleared of its QR codes.
We had to request silverware when we got the food. After sitting there for two hours, another customer opened the windows to help mitigate the heat. To add to our frustration, we were rushed to finish up minutes before our reservation was over. This gathering had twelve people, and there were just a few complaints about the food. The music and decor were nice.
Upon leaving, we noticed that only one person was seated in the supposedly double-booked area. This restaurant seems to be better suited for smaller gatherings. I would not suggest organizing an event for a large group here. As a side note, there is an auto-gratuity for a...
Read moreI’ll drive to the Metairie location before considering going back to the long awaited and anticipated opening of the NEW location here in Baton Rouge. I’ve bragged about, highly recommended, posted, shared and set planned itineraries for in-town/in-state and out-of-state friends, family, colleagues and business partners to visit ‘Bianca’ (Metairie Location) while in town and was looking forward to doing the same and more here in/at the Baton Rouge Location.
I visit restaurants, establishments, clubs/lounges on a regular and weekly basis. 1st Impression (from the time you walk-in) is very and absolutely Crucial. I’ve attempted to visit the Baton Rouge location approximately 3-times and not once did I feel encouraged nor welcomed to even want to enjoy the vibes, atmosphere nor spend time/money here. Each attempt, I was discouraged by being told: wait time; out of Hookah’s, at capacity, unable to be seated, unable to make/take reservations when told to do so. If the ‘Hostess’ doesn’t or can’t make you feel welcomed or prepare you for an experience… then the state of mind and mindset you’ll already be in… makes it 10-times harder for the other workers: Bartenders, Bottle Girls, Cooks, Waiters/Waitresses, Hookah Staff to reset or raise the bar.
While/when visiting the Metairie location, I’ve had the opportunities to meet the Management Staff, Managers on Duty, Owner… approached while still dining and randomly approached being asked: How’s everything? How has the service been? How’s the food/drinks? Is there anything else needed or that I can do for you? And if there during or at closing… or even as I’m walking out… the Hostesses make it a point to ask: Did I enjoy everything? To me… that’s creating an EPIC experience and leaving a Lasting...
Read moreI'll start off by saying I wanted to give this place 10's but I just can't. Don't get me wrong our waitress was fantastic! She was really kind and when she got the time she came over and checked on us frequently. The manager or whoever over her is the problem. The lady just has a condescending attitude. My food was cooked incorrectly and somehow I was made to feel that I did something wrong by requesting it be fixed. Once the food was brought out- the kitchen remade my whole meal. The smug manager came over to me and basically questioned why the remade my whole meal instead of just the meat. I again was made to feel as if I did something wrong. The steak gives grocery store classic, the sauce gave A1 sauce with chopped up garlic bits in it, the salad- scraps of random vegetables with vinegar or something poured over it. It just didn't give what it was supposed to for the price. The ambience was nice and what not but for the price I'm looking for more than just a vibe, I want a good meal. Overall no one at our table was satisfied with their food. It is just mid to be honest. Nothing extraordinary. I could've saved my coin and went and bought...
