35 minutes let me just start there When u 1st come in omg it’s clean, friendly atmosphere, small and cozy 1st time in my wife said Black own and 1 thing we do here and n NOLA we patronize Black Own (A lot of restaurants knows us by name when we get there) NOW- My only problem is that, Ok yes there was a crowd every table was filled but 4 of the 9 tables didn’t have there food as of yet and there was 14 people n line including my wife and I . I thought they was short handed n the kitchen that’s why they had a sign on the desk “We cook every thing to order fresh thank you for ur patience “ Ok cool but then I found out there’s 5 in the kitchen and 1 up front With that being said There’s no reason with 5 people n the kitchen and u are cooking BREAKFAST, BREAKFAST!!!! EGGS , BACON, GRITS ,FRENCH TOAST BACON ,PANCAKES and If u got 5 in the kitchen it shouldn’t take 35 minutes for BREAKFAST AND allow me to say this THE FOOD WAS AWESOME ,GRITS NEEDS A LITTLE MORE SALT AND FLAVOR BUT THE FOOD ( compliments to the chef) great job But to me if you are Going to take 35 minutes on BREAKFAST then everything should be piping Hot and when I got it it wasn’t not even close. Guys you have a great product ur food is one of the best breakfast n Baton Rouge But u got to have some since of urgency To get the orders n and out Your customers wants to get in and out and waiting 35 minutes will have them thinking twice weather they want to come back or not even if the food is good And again ur food is...
Read moreI was very disappointed in my visit. I ordered the Cozy Griddle Plate. I wasn't told a total (I didn't mind this much but I think others will). It took 30 minutes and I ordered before the rush arrived. While I waited, I saw person after person leave because it was taking a long time just to order. The unsweetened tea tasted either days old are far too strongly brewed. It was bitter and very dark.
The staff was kind and friendly. I just don't think they are experienced in having a restaurant.
My food was fresh but very under cooked. My scrambled eggs had runny white parts. My bacon was chewy. The potatoes were perfect. The biscuit was a greasy mess. I couldn't eat my meal safe for the potatoes.
I would have asked to have my food fixed but I feared it would be an hour. I just decided to leave.
To the owner: the idea of having fresh to order everything is great if you have the staff for it. It is ok to precook your meats and sides that can sit in a warmer. You missed out on a lot of business today because of the lack of speed. I don't want to see you fail, I hope you can see this review and it will help you. 💕 I will try y'all again in a month or so to see if you got your...
Read moreSorry, no photos! I was so hungry after a late work out and I didn't feel like cooking breakfast so I decided to finally try this place and the cozy griddle is everythang my heart and soul desired. My order was to-go...usually the food isn't as good if I don't dine-in at most places. Ohhhhhh, and i made an add'l stop before going home and it was still warm.
Baby, the 🥞 are big that I thought there were four. I prefer hot syrup but it wasn't necessary bc the 🥞 were so fluffy that they melt in your mouth. The 🥓 was crispy per my request. The🥚🥚 were bland which I find kinda normal bc they almost always taste the same everywhere since they do not add seasoning so that wasn't a problem bc they were still good to me. The prices are reasonable. The food was delic!!! love breakfast and must eat it every morning to be nice😅🤣😂Nonetheless, someone asked if I was gonna go back to Cracker Barrel....what is a Cracker Barrel phat? Chile, The Cozy Griddle is the only breakfast spot I...
