Poor Denny'sin Italy, TX! They are experiencing a lack of dedicated employeesThat's the only way we can understand our latest dinner there. When we arrived a young man told us quickly that he wouldn't be our server but another would be with us soon. We waited, waited, waited....He came back & asked if we wanted menus....yes...He came back & asked us if we wanted drinks. When I ordered water with lemon he told me he'd bring me bottled water since the water wasn't very good there. Ok....Several minutes later he returned & said he'd be back to take our order. We finally ordered. About 10 minutes later, he came back & said he had to take our order again but he had already taken the menus. We knew what we had ordered so we listed each item again & he kept repeating everything. He was shaking as he wrote & my husband told him everything was gonna be all right. He told us it was his 1st day & only 2 people were working. Finally he got our order again, & my son asked for a refill of his coffee. He never brought it. We waited over 30 minutes & could see a tray of food had been sitting up in the window for over 10 minutes. The poor guy was running around oblivious to what he was trying to do. Shame on Dennys for not having enough staff! Finally some friends of ours were walking by upset that they had been waiting 30 minutes to order & stopped to chat. The waiter came & asked them if they needed menus & I blurted out, " YES! BUT OUR FOOD IS READY UP THERE. COULD YOU BRING IT WHEN YOU BRING THEIR MENUS?" He stared at us like he had seen us for the first time! He went to the counter & started doing something else with drinks! We were talking to our friends who decided to sit down by us & finally my son said, "Let's go!" We were getting up to leave & he saw us, quickly grabbed the platter of now cold food & brought it to the table. My son asked for his coffee again & he brought it. He got the drinks for our friends. We ate some of our cold eggs & pancakes, paid the tab & left. All over the restaurant people were leaving. There just wasn't enough staff & no management present. Our friends complained & were told next time they would get their meal free. They told them about us too & supposedly we will eat free next time too...if we decide there will be a next time. Poor management! Bet that young man tossed in the towel after that night....
Read moreThe food was amazing but the servers were the worst I have seen in my entire life!! The restaurant only had us two and another set of two truck drivers. Our waitress refused to ever give us a refill, check on us, bring our milkshake out. If we wanted a refill we had to take it up to the counter, even though we were setting a table. Even then our waitress didn't even give us the refill her friend did. Her friend did do more, but ours was horrible. She was even up there flirting with the buss boy while he was eating (we saw him get down after eating and bussing tables so we know he worked there and all) instead of waiting on us. We also had to remind her multiple times we had a milkshake which we wanted with our meal, that never happened. I normally don't say this often, because most employees are never this bad. But I would 100% fire her. I definitely plan on e-mailing the location personally to let them know. I normally tip extremely well too, but I wasn't even going to leave her a penny. My boyfriend was too nice and left her something. And I'm normally the one who always says leave more... I would never go back unless they hire...
Read moreUnfortunately they donât like to treat customers with respect and weâve been made to feel like we were worthless here. Theyâve talked down to my family and I on multiple occasions and thatâs including the manager who loves to blame all of the problems on the night crew and take 0 responsibility for anything. Also, theyâre ALWAYS right. You canât prove them anything because theyâll act like they canât read. If you order something off the menu as is, donât expect to always get the same thing served to you. Donât bother showing them whatâs written on the menu because theyâll just tell you youâre wrong and theyâre right. If you like to be surprised and donât like to drink anything or use any silverware at all... than this is your place. Where they expect you to eat pancakes with your fingers and when you ask for silverware (nicely) theyâll say âwe donât have anyâ.
Want a good Denyâs location? Go to Garland! Yep, thatâs right. You get better service in Garland....
