A Masterclass in “How Not to Run a Restaurant”
If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to order four dosas and receive a surprise mystery meal instead — congratulations, this is the place. We asked for 2 of one kind and 2 of another, but the chef (or fortune teller?) decided we needed something completely different. Bold move.
Our server, multitasking legend that he was, took our order while wearing AirPods. Who says you need to actually hear your customers to take an order, right? Maybe he was listening to a podcast on “How to Ignore Basic Instructions.”
But wait — it gets better.
We discovered a hair lounging in our chutney like it was on vacation. When we pointed it out, the staff’s reaction was a casual “sorry” followed by a graceful walk-off into the sunset. No replacement, no apology, not even a coupon for emotional damage. We did, however, gain a free protein strand. Thanks?
The food? Imagine cardboard with a hint of regret. The dosas tasted like they were made yesterday... and reheated using disappointment.
To top it off, we dined with the local fly community, who clearly felt right at home. Hygiene? Optional. Cleanliness? Overrated. Customer service? What’s that?
The staff member who served us should seriously consider a new career — perhaps one that doesn't involve interacting with humans. Or food.
Would I recommend this place? Only if you're doing a research project on how to lose customers in under 30...
Read moreMy recent visit was very disappointing. I was hoping for a nice breakfast, but unfortunately, it didn't live up to my expectations.
I decided to try the Mysore Bonda and Idly based on the owner's recommendation. However, the Mysore Bonda was way too oily and tasted like it had been sitting around for a long time. It even had marks from the frying basket. The idly was also too hard, making it difficult to enjoy.
The onion samosas I ordered weren't much better, they were old and way too oily. I also ordered chai to go with my meal, but it was burnt.
When I mentioned these issues to the staff, they didn't seem to care much. Even the owner didn't take my concerns seriously and just made excuses (His exact words were: "The chai isn't burnt, the milk is slightly burnt, which is negligible and okay to drink").
Overall, my experience at Foodistan was disappointing. The food wasn't great, and the service was lacking. It's sad to see such a lack of care for customer satisfaction in what could have been a nice dining experience. Moreover, it's concerning that the management doesn't seem to take accountability for mistakes and instead blames employees. It gives the impression that they're more focused on selling leftovers and preserving fresh food, rather than prioritizing the quality and satisfaction of...
Read more4:30pm, they tell us nothing that we wanted from menu was available. Cook walks in as we were preparing to walk out, and hostess then says we can order those items. Placing order was difficult, even for the Indian that was trying to order.
Tables could have been cleaned better.
The food is served to-go though we said dine-in. No table service but paper plates and plasticware station is available.
My butter chicken was ok but extremely oily. The others with me said the food was terrible. After eating some food, and nearly an hour later, we were still waiting on the rest of our order. We finally asked for refund and we're told multiple times that they don't do refund.. yet they forget to make the food! My wife eventually did get a refund.
They charge in advance. Glad I don't tip in advance.
Zero stars. We will never go back.
Foodistaan is more like Foodiwait forever and then get the run-around. The most absolute worst service I've seen in a very long time. They will lie and say anything to get your money then you have to raise hell for a refund after never receiving what you paid for.
These people have no business being in business.
Do Denton a favor and close your doors...
