I had the pleasure of dining at Kashkan, a charming new Indian Dhaba Style restaurant that just opened in Denton. The experience was nothing short of delightful, especially since I could bring my dog along!
Upon arrival, the warmth of the staff was immediately noticeable. They were not only pet-friendly but also incredibly attentive and welcoming. The highlight of the visit was the owner taking the time to walk us through the menu and share insights about the traditional dishes offered.
We started with a plate of crispy and flavorful Samosa Chat followed by a refreshing Lassi and aromatic Masala Tea—both perfect palate cleansers. For the main course, we indulged in Chole Bature and Kulcha, which were perfectly seasoned and utterly comforting. We also tried Parotta with Chicken Curry, a combination that was rich in flavors and made us feel right at home.
The prices were very reasonable, adding to the overall excellent value of the dining experience. Every dish was a testament to authentic Indian cuisine and left us planning our next visit.
I highly recommend Kashkan to anyone looking to enjoy great food, lovely ambiance, and exceptional service. Whether you're a fan of Indian cuisine or new to these flavors, Kashkan...
Read moreWe recently visited here. While the staff was friendly and accommodating, the food quality was inconsistent.
Highlights✅️
✅️Mutton Curry and Naan were delicious and flavorful. 🟥Papdi Chaat didn't meet expectation as there was very less chana, dahi and bhujia. It was completely dry.It felt we were only eating just plain papdi. ✅️Samosa Chaat was comparably better. 🟥In Veg Chowmein noodles and carrots were raw and very less portion size.I saw mostly carrot. 🟥The Paneer Chilli was a letdown- hard, tasteless paneer, poor presentation. It felt like a hastily prepared dish thrown into a serving vessel without any thought to presentation. 🟥Many dishes were unavailable on a weekend, which was disappointing given the good ratings.
Suggestions:
✅️Work on consistency in food quality and presentation. ✅️Ensure popular dishes are available, especially on weekends. ✅️Focus on portion sizes and pricing.
Overall,we appreciate the owner's personal interaction but the restaurant needs to level up its food quality and consistency. THANKS for complimentary Rasmalai though. Unfortunately, we won't be...
Read moreI had kind of a weird experience here. I ordered chole bhatura and chicken Tikka masala. The chole bhatura was amazing! Great start. Then came the main dish.
What the server brought out was definitely not chicken tikka masala, which I have eaten hundreds of times and even made myself many many times. What he brought out was chicken korma.
I pointed this out and he said " no, this is tikka masala." I tasted it and confirmed that it definitely was not tikka masala, and asked him to confirm with the chef. He came back a few minutes later and just said "yes it's definitely tikka masala."
I pointed out that there were absolutely zero tomatoes or evidence of tomato sauce in the gravy, which by the way was yellow, creamy and super thick. He said " yes that's right, because tikka masala does not have tomatoes in the gravy."
I had to laugh a little bit at this situation, because it felt like maybe they were just trolling me at this point? Either way, I had a hankering for some tangy tikka masala which I realized I was not going to get at this...
