My daughter and I always try a new place when we are traveling out of town. Today, we were 100 miles from home, and this is the place she chose. Parking right on Colfax about a block from Colorado Ave. The atmosphere was great! Newer tables and benches, clean, almost a rustic feel. The menu is digital and was appropriately sized for this type of cuisine. Many selections are classic Thai, and they have a few of their own twists in there too. You also get your own level of heat on each dish. She ordered the Mama Noodles and asked for them Hot. Our server warned us that this was different than American spice and to be careful. We thanked him and continued the order as Hot. I ordered the Pineapple Curry also Hot. We also ordered the Crab Cheese Wontons, Fried Chicken dumplings a Thai tea, and a soda. As they should the apps came out first the fried dumplings were hot and tasty! The wontons were in the frier for about 15 seconds to long but still delicious. Her noodles came out first this was like a Ramen dish on steroids, it was huge. Shrimp Chicken and Pork Squid and an egg ready to burst were the proteins she promptly popped her egg and dug in. The broth was rich and tasty the noodles were done just the way she liked them, and soon, there wasn't much left. She has learned she doesn't much care for squid. While she was inhaling the Mama Noodles my Pinaeapple Curry arrived I ordered mine with Chicken. It came out hot and beautiful. The broth was almost velvety with a lot of color developed there was carrots, the chicken tomatoes and tons of Pineapple. The broth was sweetened ever so slightly by the Pineapple and the heat I had requested was in full force... that can't stop eating it almost sweating kinda heat. This was the best Thai we have ever had! Thanks so much to our server and whoever was in the kitchen, making that...
Read moreUpdate: went back for second time today. Definitely a winner and gets “will bring visiting friends and family” thumbs up.
Wow! What a pleasant surprised. On a whim we decided to give 9 Thai a try as we have seen it many times driving by and very glad we did. We will definitely be back. 5 star is a perfect for us and rarely give this out at all. Here's how we would rank the food we ordered: Street Pad Thai (4.5) - We really like this style over traditional, it was well cooked. We think it could use just a bit more of the special sauce, not a lot, just a little more. Tom Yum Fried Rice (5) - Definitely my favorite of the three. I love a good fried rice and this was done well with just the right amount of tom yum flavor but not overpowering. Drunken Noodles (4.5)(we requested vegan with no eggs or fish sauce as we were unsure if it has any) - My wife really liked it, not too sweet. Flavor was good but could use just a tad more seasoning? Overall, as a family we do not like many of the American Thai restaurants because they just over do it on the sauce and sweetness (many Chinese restaurants do the same with over saucing) so if you are one of those, you may not appreciate the dishes we ordered. It is not over sauced and you can still taste the food. We will try some curries and other dishes next time but we're super happy we found a place that "so far" seems to be one of the best in Denver dare I say? Edit: Forgot to mention that their spice level on spot on, we ordered hot and it was just spicy enough to get the kick but not make you sweat. We can handle Thai hot as we eat spicy at home but too spicy and all you think about is how spicy it is versus...
Read moreThey put chicken in my Pad Thai- I did not ask for chicken and I can not eat chicken as I am vegetarian.
I waited 40 minutes for my food to be delivered via Grubhub only to have to throw it away upon arrival.
I called and the lady was very rude, hardly spoke English, and told me it wasn’t their fault for putting chicken in there because I did not select any other “protein” option therefore they randomly put chicken in there assuming it would be ok to randomly put meat in a non-meat entree.
The pad thai is listed on their menu as noodles, green onions, sauce, bean sprouts & peanuts. It does not have meat nor would it come with meat unless you specifically requested it.
I simply ordered a Pad Thai vegetarian entree and they randomly put chicken in it without asking me or informing me.
Waited 40 minutes for food I had to throw out once it was delivered. The rude lady said it wasn’t their fault and there was nothing they could do and proceeded to interrupt me multiple times and then hung up.
Never ordering here again. Congratulations! You just lost...
