Alaskan Salmon Co — Local services in Denver

I got tired of buying the tiny 4oz packages of smoked salmon at the grocery store so I started checking around local Denver area if there was a local seafood shop.

I found Alaskan here but was a little skeptical because the most recent reviews were kinda old, website out of date, and I worried about the pandemic maybe they closed.

Well it didn't hurt to do a drive by and sure enough saw an Open sign. They're inside the Town and Country market. The folks were friendly and they had what I was looking for: pre-vacuum sealed frozen smoked salmon. I walked out with several packages and they were very reasonably priced.

Thawed one in the fridge overnight and popped the rest in the freezer. I opened the thawed package this morning and was absolutely delighted. Better than the stuff in the store. Great flavor. I've had a LOT of smoked salmon over the years and this is definitely up there in quality.

I'll definitely be going back and I'm looking forward to trying more of the seafood offerings they have. The other reviews I read here...

My husband and I stumbled upon this spot a couple weeks ago while looking for some veggies to plant. We picked up a huge salmon fillet for $10/lb. I brined it (50/50 salt and brown sugar), smoked it, and it ended up being the best salmon we’ve ever had. Not fishy tasting in the least which is great bc we recently got one from Sam’s that was pretty fishy. This will be our only stop for salmon from now on. So glad to support this...

Too bad you can't put up 6 stars....best and most eclectic place in Denver - fabulous salmon and other fish but some of the most extraordinary things on the side....today, chives and tarragon plants - all the other places were out...if you want incredible fish at a good price and maybe something else to go with your own yellow submarine (see inside store),...
