Jaya Asian Grill — Restaurant in Denver

I picked up some lunch yesterday on my way to work and caught an Uber from the restaurant. My car was in the shop longer than expected so they ordered me another Uber and I told them they can just send it to the same place since I live close. There is a Safeway nearby picked up an energy drink and some snacks for work. When I got to Jaya today I asked for a cup of ice to have my energy drink while I waited for the Uber and I was asked to leave the restaurant. He said he is in the restaurant business and he can’t allow people to consume outside products in his restaurant, and he’s not trying to be rude. I feel like the restaurant was empty except for one family and I ordered a cup of ice and intended to tip so I don’t think waiting 5 minutes for an Uber should’ve been a problem. And yes, when I ordered my cup of ice I stated I was just waiting for an Uber. I live the next block over and I rarely come here because the food is expensive and mediocre, but I will certainly never eat here again or allow anyone I know to either. I felt disrespected and humiliated.

Edit: I’m glad you responded and showed how poor your hospitality is. This is a google review, where I am free to speak on my experience as a whole not just what you decide I’m allowed to speak on. And the food isn’t good; a step above dollar scoop. In our country restaurants are hospitality businesses. Whether I went to IHOP, McDonalds, or a 5 star restaurant, I would have been allowed to sit if I place an order. You did not ask me to order something else, you asked me to LEAVE! And you did it rudely and loudly. No big deal. Your food isn’t good I won’t miss it, but people WILL have the opportunity to read my experience. Good Day! And buy your cooks...

As soon as we walked in we were greeted with a big friendly smile by the waitress ( not sure if she is the manager or owner). The place was clean and tidy. The menu consists of Malaysian, Singaporean and Indonesian food and they all sound so good. We ordered

Chilli Ayam Malacca Dish Stir fried chicken with roasted peanut and chili in brown spicy sauce. Hot and spicy. $15.75

Kangkung Sambal Belacan Water spinach with choice of spicy shrimp paste or garlic sauce. Hot and spicy. Gluten-free. $12.95

Nasi Goreng Ikan Asin Malaysian home style spicy fried rice with salted fish and dry shrimp. $13.25

Nyonya Seafood Soup Scallop, white fish, shrimp and zucchini with sticky egg white broth. $14.75

Yee Mee Combo Crispy pan fried egg noodles over assorted vegetables, egg and combination meat with brown gravy. And my boyfriend ordered Durian smoothie. The waitress was surprised and wanted to confirm if my boyfriend wanted durian as it is an acquired taste. When it came out, it was tasty.

Every dish was absolutely tasteful. The meat was so tender it melted in my mouth and the sauces were on point. The veggie dishes ie water spinach was cooked very well with a slight crunch to my perfection, another absolute delight and so were the noodles. Overall, food was amazing and the portions were huge. We had so much leftovers. The service was friendly and the food tasted fresh and came out delicious and quick. We came back...

First of all. Food is great but the service is not good. So this os my second time that I called in today and ordered food for delivery. The lady pick up the phone and she said if I order food more than 15 dollars. It will be free for delivery. I order food with her please add tips in there and she say ok and I still talking to her and her how long will take. She said 45 mins and hangs up on me without say thing. So the delivery guy came here and took longer than 45 mins and almost 1 hr. He hand me a receive that I have to sign. I saw she add for a delivery fee plus tips. So I called her back and ask why i have charged for delivery fee this time (I order more than $15)and she said I live far aways more than 3 miles. IF I LIVE FAR AWAY MORE THAN 3 MILES. I DONT MINE IF SHE IS GOING YO CHARGE ME.! I told her last time the restaurant didnt charge me for the delivery. She said oh maybe something wrong or whoever I order didnt charge for it. She said no worry abiut the fee and hang up on me again !!! So rude.. (So I order with her last time ) As she said I live far aways more than 3 miles. I checked and I am about 2.5 miles aways from the restaurant. Um. I dont know what is going on there. If you want to have a good asian food. Im recommend to go there and try it but try to not order a delivery. So disappoint about how rude she was. I dont think I will go back again. Good food but service...
