We missed having a decent Mexican restaurant on Colorado blvd. This in the old Hacienda building. Unfortunately the Hacienda went down hill in the end and am so happy that Los Dos Portrillos opend up. We really liked the new fresh look inside the restaurant. The atmosphere was nice and vibrant. It was pretty busy on Sunday but we got a table in 10 min. The server was very nice and attentive and took our order quickly. The food came out quick and hot. The Fajitas were great and plentiful. Over all it was a nice experience with good food. Only thing I would say is that prices keep going up in all restaurants and our bill was $120 for 3 of us and this was with no alcohol.

šŸ“ This new location was super busy which is great to see. We sat on one of the patios which allows for nice outdoor seating. It took about 50 minutes to get out food after sitting down... We just attribute it to recently opening and getting adjusted. 🌮 🌯 We did enjoy the food and had a chimichanga and enchiladas combo. The chips and salsa were good, but the beans and rice and not the best. The iced tea was freshly brewed and delicious. šŸ…æļø Friendly staff and free parking near Best Buy and other shopping. I would return but most likely not during dinner rush.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The newest Los Dos Portrillos location is an absolute gem! The atmosphere is vibrant and welcoming, and the food is nothing short of incredible. Their fajitas are sizzling, perfectly seasoned, and loaded with flavor—easily the best I’ve had in town. And the margaritas? Hands down the best around—fresh, tangy, and dangerously good! The staff is friendly and attentive, making the whole dining experience even better. If you’re looking for authentic Mexican food with unbeatable drinks, this spot is a must-visit. Five stars all the way!

It's mediocre Tex-Mex attempting to be upscale.

The remodel of the building is fantastic. If you don't mind the traffic noise, you can be seated immediately on the patio. The wait staff was decent, although not fantastic. We waited too long for our drinks, but it was a Friday night. The salsa was great, mildly spicy.

As for the food, the presentation of some dishes was great, others look like something thrown on a plate. Zero plating skills. One plate looked like a small chain burrito wrapped in foil thrown on a plate. Another plate had a poorly cooked chicken breast smothered in what barely passes for mole. The taco salad on another plate looked like a basic taco salad from another fast food chain on a plate that was too big for it. My combination plate looked fantastic until I looked closer. What I took for green chili was 90% fryer oil. I kept trying to move it to the side, but it was all fryer oil. My taco was a fried flour tortilla with what tasted like taco bell meat, nothing else, just tortilla and meat. Nothing was salted. Which coming from me, who never uses much salt, says something. The only item on my plate with any flavor was the taco. The chili rellanos were solid lumps of cheese with a few small slice of a tasteless pepper. I doubt it was even a Poblano. I ate the taco and half of a rellano. The waiter never asked if everything was okay.

There are 3 other mexican restaurants in less than a mile of here that are so much better. Don't waste...

Los Dos took over the spot that was once Hacienda Colorado, another terrible Mexican restaurant for suburbanites serving incredibly bland food.

Somehow, the takeover has made the restaurant look significantly worse, and the floor is covered in some sort of film - I felt like I was going to slip and fall the entire time they were leading me back to a VERY pathetic looking back room with no windows that for some reason the staff was eating in. We changed tables, but I wish we had just left before we got the food.

The salsa is the very classic, cheap, watery, tomato and oregano salsa that you find at restaurants that hate you. The chips are bagged and not fresh. They were not stale, they just tasted very clearly of bagged chips. I can't imagine anyone ever asks for more - they are under salted, and the salsa is inedible, and so heavy on oregano.

I ordered a shredded beef burrito, supreme, which comes with guacamole and sour cream. The guacamole tastes like crayons. It is NOT freshly made, and has no lime or salt - so it has a wax like consistency and nothing to balance out the fattiness of the avocado. Salt, fat, acid - perfection. This was just fat, and rancid tasting at that.

The glasses for soda are 8 ounces for some reason, which just feels cheap. The burrito was below average, and SMALL for $21.

I will not be back, it was packed so I'm sure for people who want AWFUL tex mex...

Where do I begin? I am a huge fan of Los Dos on South Holly. When I saw that this new location was opening up, I was excited. To my utter disappointment, this location has none of the charm, service or amazing food. I have given it 2 chances now and both times it fell beyond short. The ambiance at this Denver location is awful. It has bright, cafeteria lighting that is harsh and uncomfortable. The bar is in the middle of the restaurant and there is a stale beer smell no matter where you sit. We got sat right next to the kitchen door that is constantly swinging open and has a nice squeak to it. every. single. time. Both of my experiences there we had Julieta as our server. She is kind enough, smiles a little and then, both times left us waiting for help with an additional need and waiting forever for the check. She never checked to see if we needed more chips, another drink or anything. BOTH TIMES. And the biggest tragedy, is truly the food. It doesn't taste like the Los Dos I love. The only thing that tastes the same is the salsa, and even that doesn't pack the punch the other location does. I honestly don't think we will go back. I am not kidding; the lighting alone is a reason to stay away. Truly sad after waiting in anticipation for this location to...
