Denver Public Library: Virginia Village Branch Library — Attraction in Denver

This is a wonderful library, there is a teen area only for teens others cannot mingle or gather in that area. Sometimes they have little journal packs for the teens with pieces of paper and stickers a writing utensil and a little notebook. They have snacks for the kids you just go to the counter and they will give each kid a snack. There’s a toddler section with toys for younger toddlers or also a section for a little bit older little kids with legos and tables with coloring sheets and crayons and a table with tablets with little kid games or a row of computers just for kids. Only parents w kids or kids can be in the children’s section so weirdos aren’t drooling over your kids while they play. They have a toddler read storytime on some days. There’s also an adult section where adults can use computers or print and you can print up to 100 pages if needed. There’s a charging station for devices that you can juice up your electronics if you accidentally forgot to charge your phone. They have 2 self checkout machines and you scan your library card enter your passcode and then you just stack your books in a pile and it automatically scans it, super fast and convenient. I even saw the other day that if you have a bike or something you need to lock up outside but you don’t have a lock they will lend you their lock and then you just go get the librarian to unlock it when you are leaving. This library is incredibly loud. Mainly the staff, who sit 2 feet away from each other and proceed to yell and talk loudly like they’re at a bar or something. Ive been here a few times, and the first 2 times I thought I maybe came on a weird day and thought that there is no way library staff can be this loud-but low and behold- this is just how it is here. The woman at the help desk, I believe her name is Renata ( I only know this because she talks very loudly and answers the phone like she’s yelling) is unbelievably loud and rude. Super frustrating. I come to the library to study, not to feel like I’m at a bustling restaurant with loud patrons which is what the staff makes it feel like, having no consideration for the people who come there to study or to have some quiet time. Woman at the receptionist desk was extremely rude. I called to see if there was a location open to the public, explaining to her that all the materials I’m looking for have extensive wait lists and I would like to pick something from the available items. She said the wait lists were not extensive, she has been on several, and the removal of checkout privileges was an incentive to return checked out items. I explain I had once waited 6 months on a list for a movie before finally canceling my hold and just purchasing it. She became even more rude, telling me to just go online to search for items or that she could do it.
