The first time walking in to Kaladis Coffee Shop was immediately overwhelming. Perhaps because this dainty shop makes for a crowded space even if a few people are in line, and its proximity to Denver University seem to makes it a happening spot complete with awesome people spotting. The barista with a beard that would make Zeus proud, suggest their namesake Kaladi Latte. The ingredients are a secret but I am guaranteed I’ll like it– a little shop with a lot of confidence! I spring for a raspberry tart too. My latte arrives with a dainty, foamy flower floating atop; a work of art in a cup of coffee, and sitting next to my tart I think I am about to experience a little nirvana. One sip later and I am in love. I can’t quite put my finger on the flavor but it reminds me of condensed milk - thickly textured with a mild sweetness. The espresso they proudly roast in house is well-balanced; medium bodied, and slightly nutty (or was that some secret ingredient?), a flavor I think most coffee drinkers would agree is quite delightful. I move to the tart laden with fresh berries and strips of crust; which I come to discover are as flaky and doughy as the foundation they sit on. Definitely nirvana. It becomes quickly apparent that this recipe is well refined, and on that matter, the shop is too. Interesting people watching, fantastic coffee and treats – yup, I’ll...
Read moreRight down on Franklin and Evans there's a Starbucks. People rushing in and out like busy bees, paying two, three, even four dollars more then this lovely little place next door. I love mochas, and theirs is a primo mocha. Sometimes I lightrail all the way there just for it when I'm not in the area, no lie. My lady friend tells me the Venetian Creme with an extra shot or two is smoother then the first lady's silks. Probably my favorite coffee shop in Denver. Great furnishing as well, real nice place to sit, friendly people. Solid deal overall. I just got on at 11:50 pm to tell you this. That's how good the mocha is. They aren't even open. I was just thinking about them. I think I might get a mocha in the morning. I can't stop thinking about it. Maybe I'll change my review to one star. I'm beginning to think there's a little something added to keep me coming back. Or maybe not. Well, if you've made it this far you are probably in a pretty boring situation and I hope you've thoroughly realized that I enjoy Kaladi coffee more then is strictly necessary. Don't you dare judge me. Why don't you just go there and find out if this has all been a fabrication. It might be. You never know. I'm serious. You never know with...
Read moreKaladi is the best coffee shop around without a doubt. The espresso and coffee are fantastic, and there are a plethora of drink, food, and syrup options to choose from that accommodate allergies. The atmosphere is inviting, positive, and motivating - I enjoy the seasonal decorations and the local artwork on the walls. I've been to hundreds of coffee shops but I've never met a staff as kind, cheerful, fun, welcoming, patient, helpful, hardworking and all around fantastic as the team at Kaladi. Erin and Adam in particular are incredible individuals who go above and beyond each and every day to provide excellent service, cultivate relationships with customers and make Kaladi a special place to be. Anyone leaving a bad review is probably an entitled, impatient, sensitive, weak, fool who has never worked a day in service in their life, and believes hiding and complaining behind a screen will be more effective than speaking to a team member about their concerns. Kaladi is a staple of the DU and South Denver community, and I recommend supporting this local...
