I don’t usually leave reviews, but I was super disappointed in the Next Level Burger in Denver. Especially because I’ve had such amazing experiences at Next Level Burger in Portland and Seattle. I expected Denver to be the same. So I took my partner there for the first time. The customer service was okay. The staff there were friendly/helpful for the most part, though the woman taking my order kept getting distracted and walking away while I was ordering. I was patient, however. Not a big deal.
The problem happened once we received our food. Both of our burgers were raw. We ordered the Ghost Pepper Popper Burger and the Beyond Fire Burger. Initially, I figured it just looked pink because it’s beyond meat, but no. I bit into it and it was raw and soggy like the meat wasn’t cooked at all. The cheese that mine was stuffed with wasn’t even melted or close to looking melted. Which is how I know the burger wasn’t cooked thoroughly. And it wasn’t even stuffed with the jalapeño cream cheese (it was a shredded cheese instead). My partner’s burger was the same. I opened the burgers and was so disgusted we couldn’t even eat the rest of the food we ordered (fries and shakes).
The fries were also not flavorful. I ordered the FireStyle Fries and my partner the BeerChz style fries. Both fries were not flavorful, despite ordering sides of different sauces to dip the fries into. Also, there was hardly any BeerChz on the BeerChz style fries and it had a plastic-like flavor. The consistency of the sauces on the FireStyle fries were a (not to be gross) but a snot/mucus like consistency.
To drink I ordered a Lemon-Lime soda and my partner ordered the Peanut Butter Cup Shake. The beverages were better than the food but my partner said the shake was okay, nothing out of the ordinary.
The unfortunate part is that we both felt super sick afterwards. I am writing this the morning after and still feel nauseous. I’m so disappointed that we wasted so much money and time. In total we spent about $98. Over priced, hardly any flavor, not thoroughly cooked, and disgusting to ingest. Just...
Read moreMy cousin and I were so excited to try Next Level Burger (an all vegan restaurant), but my overall experience was slightly less thrilling. I ordered the Maverick Burger, Organic Crinkle Cut French Fries, and an Organic Soft Serve Cookies N' Cream Shake.
The Maverick Burger: The burger was juicy and well seasoned. I appreciated that there was a provolone option as this is something I rarely see. The provolone had good taste and melting qualities. The pickles were fresh and juicy! The burger had a good amount of sauce being they put the special sauce on both the top and bottom buns along with a generous portion of BBQ sauce. However, the bun didn't taste fresh. Also, they forgot my tempeh bacon and I didn't realize it until after. :(
Organic Soft Serve Cookies N' Cream: I liked that they had 2 milk base options to choose from: soy or coconut. I chose soy. It lacked in chocolate flavor despite having the chocolate sauce and cookie crumbles. 99.9% of the time I finish everything I order, but I did not care to finish this shake and I didn't. Also, I did think it was small for the price.
Organic Crinkle Cut French Fries: The seasoning was good, it had a subtle hint of heat. I'm not sure what it was exactly, but it reminded me of old bay seasoning. The fries were not as hot and crunchy as I'd prefer. I also thought the size was pretty small for a large and for the price I think it should have came with at least 1 dipping sauce. The dipping sauces were 75¢ each.
The service was good and the decor was super cute, but I was overall underwhelmed, especially for the price. I do appreciate that most, if not all, of the food is organic. However, that shouldn't be a reason that it lacks in flavor. I would give Next Level another try during my next trip to Denver. I would just order...
Read moreI stopped here with some friends for the grand opening at 10:43am. The line was pretty long, but we finally got through it and got a golden ticket for being one of the first 100 in. At this point it was about 1:10 when our order was taken. My boyfriend and I ordered a quesadilla and nachos, a smoothie and a milkshake. We took our order with a lady that had a ponytail and we were not given a receipt. We waited while many others got their food, including our friends who ordered after us, then finally asked one of the staff where our food was around 1:50. They said that our order ticket wasn’t there and had an older lady (who I assume is a manger) come talk to us. She then said that our order was never rung up and took our order again. We waited almost another 40 minutes and it still wasn’t done. I talked to her again between that time and she said she had no idea when it would be ready. She never apologized once or anything during this whole ordeal. Anyways, after waiting over an hour and 20 minutes, we had to leave without the food, but got the drinks at least (because it still wasn’t ready), and we had an appointment very soon. Even as I told her that I really had to go and to just give the food to my friends (who were waiting with me) she just said “okay.” No apology or anything.
I get that everyone was busy due to the grand opening, but we had been there in line since 10:40am. When we left, there wasn’t even a line outside anymore and it was pretty long. My boyfriend isn’t even vegan and I was trying to “expand his horizons,” but I unfortunately feel like this ruined his view on vegan food even...
