Visiting my son here in Denver, I wanted to specifically try the Dim Sum here, though the number of items not as extensive as several of the other Dim Sum restaurants nearby. Ordered the baked BBQ bun which to me was the best one so far I had tried in town, with the right amount of pork filling and taste. This to me is far better than Star Kitchen and Empress. I would also give the Egg Tart 5 stars which has a nice flaky crust. Shrimp Rice Noodle Crepe was excellent with the right touch of crepe softness and soy sauce sweetness. The lotus leaf glutinous rice was pleasant with decent quality . Sesame Ball with red bean paste inside was fine and not too sweet. Sweet Rice Pork Dumpling and Xiu Mai I would rate them 4 stars. Steamed BBQ Pork Bun was also fine; but personally I would like a bit less dough. I made the mistake of ordering the wonton soup; the wontons they make are essentially like the pork xiu mai in soup, and I would have liked to have more shrimp in the pork filling. I would have liked to try the shrimp +/- cilantro or leek dumplings, as well as the ginger/scallion tripe, pork pot stickers, fried shrimp ball, turnip cake and spare ribs w/black bean sauce; these would be on my next hit list!
I ordered the salted fish fried rice due to the rave reviews by a recent reviewer. Fried rice was light (non sticky) and fragrant, and the taste did not disappoint. The taste is different from the traditional Cantonese salted fish and chicken fried rice which I am used to. They use tiny dried shrimp and small cubed fried fish cake or fish tofu for flavor which I liked.
Also ordered the Vietnamese spring roll to go for my wife which was up to par with generous container of the peanut dipping sauce.
Me and my son both ordered the Iced Vietnamese Coffee with condensed milk. Coffee taste was strong and intense, and pretty damn good! That's one of the best Vietnamese coffees I've had so far.
Last of all, the restaurant was clean and unpretentious. All the staff were pleasant and friendly, as noted by multiple previous reviewers. Dim Sum price point was also quite reasonable, and lower than the other Dim Sum places I went to in town.
I would definitely return and try their Vietnamese dishes, including the Pho, egg soup/ fried noodles, and beef sauteed...
Read moreEDIT: I liked this restaurant so much I recently took my aunts, uncles, and cousins from out of state here for a lunch / Dim Sum. We spent over $200 dollars and it was a complete disaster. They completely lost our Dim Sum order and didn't say a word until I had to go up there and ask for it 30 minutes later. Only then did they acknowledge they lost it and asked us to fill out a new form. So people who ordered off the main menu eventually stopped waiting and ate their food while the others waiting for Dim Sum were left starving. Disorganization was rampant, they had no clue what they were doing. They didn't give us basic things like forks, knives, or condiments until we asked several times and I actually at one point just went and grabbed it myself because our dishes were getting cold. The fried shrimp balls are usually good but this time on 06/19/2023 it was dry, tasted stale and old and was just bad. Honestly, I was embarrassed that I took my extended family here, it was anything but good. And they didn't offer to discount anything and even had the audacity to pre-tip themselves on the bill. I would probably not go back based on this horrific experience.
This restaurant just underwent new management and renovations about 3 months ago and what a change! It's beautiful on the inside, staff is attentive and friendly, and the food is really good. Specifically, the Dim Sum blew away my expectations. It's sneaky good because they feature so many other things on their menu, you wouldn't think the Dim Sum is going to be fire, but it is. And the kicker, it's cheaper than other places like Star Kitchen. The variety isn't quite as large as Star Kitchen, but it's still...
Read moreWow! Words cannot describe the absolute culinary masterpiece of this restaurant. From the moment you step inside, you are transported to the warm inviting employees and the very sweet owner. Now, let's talk about the food. Oh my goodness, where do I even begin? Every dish is a burst of flavors that dance harmoniously on your taste buds. The menu is a delightful journey through various Asian cuisines (Chinese and Vietnamese) with each dish carefully crafted to perfection. First, let's talk about their Bun Dac Biet. It's by far the best noodle bowl I’ve ever had, and that is no exaggeration. Every single piece of meat they use is seasoned to perfection, and the noodles are perfect texture and flavor. But it doesn't stop there. Their dum sum dishes are a true revelation. The fried shrimp ball and the pork and shrimp dumplings are best dim sum I’ve had in all of Colorado (again no exaggeration). I travel all the way from Colorado Springs, which is about an hour and half drive. But, it is completely worth it and I will continue to visit as frequently as possible. I am so thankful I found this restaurant, and I will continue to make frequent...
