The service here is so slow and unattentive, they don't keep the place clean and they ignore customers.

I love Indian cuisine, and I was really excited to try this place out before going into work in the area. I was seated promptly and was immediately served water -- I was impressed by how fast the service was. I was wrong.

I decided on my meal quickly, and put the menu down so that it was clear I was ready to order. It took fifteen minutes for someone to take my order -- there were three tables in the restaurant and they were taken care of, so the servers were simply hiding behind the bar. I sat patiently and watched as it took another 25 minutes to get my food, and I only received it after getting a server's attention and politely asking for an update because I had to get to work. Again, every other table had been served, and there were two more tables that had walked in after me who had already dined and received their check. While I waited for my meal, there were several tables that had not been cleared or wiped down from previous customers; a server didn't take care of them until I left a half hour later. Again, the staff did not want to leave the bar area whatsoever.

The food was delicious, until I discovered a hair in my naan, and another in my masala. They were clearly not mine. I was completely put off.

When the server came back with the check, he had the nerve to promote their rewards program and provide me with a coupon. If it's going to take me an hour for an "express" meal during a slow time, there's no way I'm going to return, even with a coupon.

If you're interested in Indian food and near DU, I recommend taking the extra travel time to...

We went to serene cuisine of India after reading amazing reviews on both google and yelp. We were expecting the place to be sparkling clean as mentioned by a lot of people in the reviews and we were also expecting good service based on the reviews. On the contrary, we were treated with very poor service and also a couple of flies on our table. After being seated we were waiting for our server to come and take up the order. It was fairly empty (only one party of 6-7 people apart from me and my wife in the restaurant). My wife noticed that the servers were pushing each other to go take the order from us. This set a very negative tone at the very beginning. The service throughout was very lathergic till the end. We waited for more than we should have for everything starting from appetizers to paying the bill. Coming to food. We ordered kesari paneer tikka - 2/5 - paneer was too hard and it tasted like it came out of the freezer a few mins back For main course we ordered baigan bharta and garlic naan. 5/5 for the bharta and 3/5 for the naan (tasted good but went pretty dry in a couple of mins) Sangria was decent. 4/5 Mango cheesecake was superb. 5/5 for it. Overall a bad experience but I can see why people rate them very highly for their food and I agree with them on the food items we had (except...

While visiting the University, my girlfriend and I decided to have lunch at Serene, and it turned out to be an amazing choice. I ordered the spicy chicken tikka masala, while she went for the mild version, and we shared both garlic naan and cheese naan. The food was absolutely delicious—perfectly spiced and bursting with flavor. The portions are generous, so I’d actually recommend sharing a main dish along with an appetizer or dessert, plus the naan—it’s a must!

Beyond the fantastic food, the service was exceptional. Our server was incredibly kind and welcoming, clearly proud of the restaurant’s commitment to fresh preparation. We enjoyed our meal so much that we asked if they could cater my dad’s birthday party the very next day. I was worried they wouldn’t be able to accommodate such short notice, but they went above and beyond, helping us select the perfect dishes.

Serene was punctual with the catering, and the food was a huge hit—everyone loved it! Well, except for one person who isn’t a fan of Indian food, but with an 18-to-1 vote in favor, I’d say that’s a win. Overall, an outstanding experience, and I’m incredibly grateful to the Serene staff for their kindness and exceptional service....

Did a too good to go order. It describes meat rice dishes available. Drove all the way to university for some potatoes and curry sauce with 3 little pieces of pita bread. On the app it claims you will receive $18 worth of food for $5.99 I wouldnt pay 6$ for potatoes and curry. Not worth going back. UPDATED Serene Cuisine replied saying this isn't the right business, I have included a screenshot with their address and information from Too Good To Go, this is the correct business listed on the app and Google Maps. Highly disappointed I didnt take a photo of the food I received to even further verify my review/opinions. Also I wish the company would take some responsibility to a mediocre review instead of trying to push the blame on the person leaving the review. Also interesting how they claim they dont serve bread. Im not sure what you call a flour based bread like substance on top of the rice if it isnt bread. 2nd UPDATE Too Good To Go refunded us the full amount due to the lack of food and overstated value of the product we received. At least someone took ownership of Serene Cuisine of India on University.

This place NEVER fails to deliver a delicious, fresh Indian dish no matter what you choose. Today I ordered delivery and tried one of the ‘Mumbai Frankie’s’ and chose the ‘Zeera Alu’ (potato) and an order of Vegetable Pakora. Frankie’s are like an Indian version of a burrito is the best way I can describe it. They have two vegetarian Mumbai Frankie options with the other one being ‘Paneer’ (cheese). The one I chose: Potatoes, Indian spices, herbs wrapped in specialty thin naan filled with sauteed bell peppers and onions, fresh tomatoes, drizzled with mint and tamarind chutney served with raita and masala sauce. Just wow! The portion size is HUGE for the cost and they are NOT frugal by any means! Most importantly it was super fresh ingredients and tasty. This is a great choice for lunch or dinner and I highly recommend it. I’ll be ordering it again many times. Thank you for always serving fresh ingredients and never skimping every time I order Serene!
