The Dirty Duck Bar — Restaurant in Denver

It's 4 minutes walk from my house, but can't imagine I'd ever come back.

I scouted it out on my board tonight, finally, and didn't find any spot comfortable to settle my single self, even for the duration of a beer. Patient, friendly, and humble as I swear I was in my request, the bartender was visibly angry about serving me a half a glass of water before I left. It definitely felt like it wasn't a fluke. Honestly, it felt like it might have been in response to my long hair. (which I've NEVER encountered, and would never have thought to imaging before tonight.) Also, the sidewalks are terrible getting there.

The place gave me the ick as a first impression, and hammered it home with the hospitality....

One of the divest dive bars I've ever seen. Tables are all crooked and was unsure if I could put too much weight on them. Bartender was also the frozen pizza chef, but let's be honest you don't come to a place like this for the food.

Be forewarned, there is a $15 minimum for using a credit card. In places like this, that can be problem. $3 beers and $4.50 vodka sodas that are very heavy handed can be a 1 way ticket to drunk town if you are trying to reach the minimum.

Buddy of mine and I from Dallas took a road trip up to Estes Park a couple years ago. Headed back down and crashed in a hotel in Denver the last night. Buddy hunted this bar down and said we had to go. Went late in the evening! Great decision! Our bartrendress was amazing. She was super friendly and engaging. The couple we sat next to were also from the Dallas area and had been there a bit. Best 2 and half hours I'd had in a bar in a long time. I've seen some of the negative posts in here and based on what I could tell, just a bunch of Karens. Cannot wait to get back to Denver in November to get back to the Dirty Duck.
