This was our first time in The Hound and I wish we would’ve visited sooner. We live right next door don’t know why it took us so long. I had the fish and chips (French fries) with coleslaw. Very good I was impressed by the crunchiness of the batter on the fish. A+ we also ordered the Reuben Rolls that came with a southwestern style dipping along with horseradish infused sour cream. These were very good as well. A+ My partner got the cheesesteak with a side of Colorado pork green chili. He liked his meal and this is coming from a 90% vegan! We splurged today clearly lol The bartender was awesome - didn’t catch his name but he was very friendly and welcoming. I love the atmosphere reminds me of an old style dark pub on the inside. The only sad thing about all of this is we will be moving to North Carolina at the end of this month and we won’t be able to go to this wonderful restaurant any longer. Everything was good and anytime we visit Denver in the future we will be sure to return here. 100% A+

I assume/hope the food is better when served in house. I got a to go order because I wanted a good not fast food burger but also wanted to stay in, and their menu sounded pretty good. Not to be mean but I wish I would have just gone to McDonald’s instead. After tip I paid a little over $19 for this burger and fries. It was very dry and flavorless. I didn’t know it also didn’t come with cheese which was pretty disappointing, I would have definitely ordered some if I had known. The online option also insinuated that it would be coming with a salad as well. It asked what dressing I would like for my salad, I selected blue cheese, and they gave me blue cheese dressing but no salad. The fries were also very over cooked and dry, almost no salt on it too. Overall not a great meal and for the price I can’t say I will be coming back.

Came here for the first time with my dad. It was a Sunday night so it wasn't crowded. The decor and atmosphere is very similar to a tavern/pub (as others have mentioned). The menu had a good selection of pub fare: burgers, wings, soup and salad, as well as some interesting twists on classic pub dishes like a cottage pie and a banger hoagie. I got the banger hoagie (pictured) and was not disappointed! It comes with carmalized onions and a beer cheese sauce that was excellent! I got a side of tots smothered in green chilli and cheese for good measure - also excellent. I wouldn't have minded if the draft selection was a little more diverse. I look forward to coming back!

Have gone to the old City Pub many times before. Always loved the food and pricing was reasonable, especially when factoring in daily specials. Was excited to try this out. Went with my family and was thoroughly disappointed. Started off decently as a staff member quickly stopped by to all for drink orders. Literately 2 minutes later another staff member stopped by asking for drink orders. Nicely said we already ordered. About 3 minutes later a 3rd staff member stopped by to get our drink orders. That is ridiculous.

Overall place was updated, but taking down a wall land putting dog pictures up everywhere isn't that big of an update.

Then there was the menu. Coming from the excellent City Pub menu to the Hound's menu is a joke. I kept looking at the back of the menu hoping for more, but sadly there isn't. Finally settled on a burger that appeared over priced.

Sadly my burger was just ok. My dad got a Reuben, which he said was decent and my sister got a salad, which sadly didn't match her recollection of City Pub's salads.

We were all saddened by the news that City Pub was closing, but excited to hear a new burger joint was replacing it. Unfortunately the new place just isn't any good. We will be searching for a new place as this will be the last time here.

On a side note there was one excellent improvement made. They finally raised the cement in the back to eliminate...

My brother and I went in to grab a late lunch and shoot some pool and to say the least this establishment is a major let down from what we're used to at our other local establishment. The food is mid, the service even worse. We asked for water three times and didn't get it once during our stay. We ended up having to go to the bar to order the second round of drinks as both server/bar tenders walked past our stacked empty glasses at least four times taking care of other patrons. Granted it appeared that they likely may have been short staffed, so we tried to give them the benefit of the doubt. We preceded to watch BOH staff come out of the kitchen and help with some clearing of tables, but most of the time appeared to just be bored in the back, and would come out from the back to hang around the service station by the pool tables checking out what all the patrons were doing. Regardless of that, knowing BOH probably doesn't know how to operate the POS, for cripes sake if you tell me you're going to come right back with the water, at least follow through with your word after I've asked three times for hydration. If you are thinking of checking this establishment out, I would recommend seeking alternatives, unless you actually enjoy being neglected by your...

I really wanted to like this place. It's close to home and the decor is delightful. I knew going in it would be different from City Pub that used to occupy it's space, but after giving it two chances I don't think I'll be returning. I do want to say the food is really tasty. I like the pub variety and everything I had was quite good. Especially the egg rolls. The drink list leaves a lot to be desired from a pub. There aren't many options even between draft and bottles. It was just okay and for the prices, I was disappointed. My biggest disappointment was the service. The crowd wasn't big for a Friday night, but I waited over an hour between receiving part of my order and being checked on again. Even when I approached the bar, the staff disappeared into the kitchen. I had good company, so I didn't need to leave right away, but our drinks and plates sat empty for 45 minutes. Like I said, I did enjoy the food, but the lack of drink options for the price point of the food and the mediocre service will probably detour me from...
