7/30 update - The food truck a few steps away has better food and customer service. I ordered an asada torta and the bread was torn and believe it or not, there is a small amout of avocado. The lady while ordering was short in response and didn't say one work when I pulled up to the window. Not a "hi how are you" or even the dollar amount. She just had her hand out for my card. And the food was cold! Ended up going to the food truck next door and so much better! The food was delicious and fresh.
5/2025 I ordered 2 Carne Asada fries but I got pastor instead. They also put the guacamole and sour cream under the meat so the guacamole was brown. I was in the drive thru and waited 13 minutes total. The line was also long so i didn't take the time to double check my order before driving off. Read moreI've been a few times now for breakfast burritos and they're great! They're so big i can cut 'em in half and get 2 days worth out of one, so it's like a 50% deal almost.
Every breakfast burrito is different so here's what i observed: They're basic protein, egg and potato burritos (ham, sausage, chorizo, bacon) They DON'T go crazy with potatoes which is the biggest bummer The salsa is decent They're super generous with the meat, if that's your thing. I cracked open the chorizo burrito, which usually sees skimpy meat amounts, and thought "this might be too much, even for me". This is a good problem to have :)
If you like a basic, generous, meat+egg+potato+cheese breakfast burrito at a decent price that's open 24 hours, well then this is a 5 star place for that.
I'll echo what other reviewers said though, don't go downhill because I will come back and update...
Read moreHi and welcome to the newest restaurant in Hampden Heights in Southeast Denver. I have had my eye on this place to see what was going to occupy this location. Many other things available, maybe I will try over the next several weeks. Taco Star is open 24 hours and breakfast always available. I showed up at about 1am in a snowstorm as test and they were very much open ...
