MISSION BBQ — Restaurant in Deptford Township

If you are reading reviews and on the fence, this is your cue to go!! My mom and I stopped here after visiting my university and boy did we make the right choice. All food is made on site, it’s extremely clean, and has ample inside and outside seating. The person taking our order, Michael, was extremely friendly and personally walked on our side of the counter to explain the menu to my mom and I, as it was our first time dining there. We ended up choosing the pork roast sandwich and the ribs with potato casserole. For drinks I chose the lemonade and mixed it with unsweetened tea as recommended by the staff! To round out our food another staff member Micah gave us extra goodies to welcome us!

The food was AMAZING! Everything came out fast and in huge portions! We definitely had leftovers for later on. I enjoyed trying all of the different sauces on the table. The potato casserole was perfectly cheesy! The brownies and chocolate chip cookies were a nice treat we enjoyed on our drive back to North Jersey. The added bonus was the staff walking around the dining area to ensure patrons had everything they needed.

I drove out of the way to Mission BBQ for some good BBQ and they did not disappoint! I ordered the brisket and pulled pork which was delicious and when picking up my order, my friend was picking up his order of ribs and I said "wow that looks delicious" and the server handing me my food asked if I wanted some. I paused for a second and emphatically said yes! The other servers laughed and she went back and got me 3 juicy smoked ribs and had me try it and explained the smoking process for the meats I selected. I got to the table and dipped my food in all of the sauces they had and really couldn't decide which was my favorite. After my meal, I went to get some Mac and cheese to go and they packaged it for me and I was handing my card over to them and they said oh there's no need for that. The hospitality of everyone at Mission BBQ surprised me and I forgot I was in the Northeast because no one is THAT nice in the NJ/NY metropolitan area. I've even been to BBQ places in Tennessee and people weren't this nice! Bring anyone here for good food and great service and they'll be sure to leave...

I don't know a place that celebrates first responders and America more. Every day at noon everything stops and they play the national anthem. They do fund raising for first responders and offer free food and discounts for them as well. The food is simply amazing! I have not had a bad meal here ever. I love the green beans and classic sausage. The moist brisket is one of my all time favorites but I will get the lean brisket on occasion. They supply a variety of sauces to go with the food but it's honestly not needed. Good BBQ is hard to beat. They also have the best service for a "fast food" place. They are helpful if you need help deciding. They will also walk you through ordering if you have never been there and they don't throw attitude while doing it either. They seem to really enjoy working there. Service is fast and organized. They also have never messed up an order like other places do all the time. It's a little pricey but it's worth it. This is also one place I never feel like I could have made it better at home, and it saves me 14 hours of watching my smoker....
