We came here looking for a quick and easy breakfast experience. There are only cons. -We understood the joint was packed, but service was slow and poor. We waited around 30 mins AFTER we ordered our food to show up. -Our server didn't check on us until she dropped off our check. -Food was terrible. -It could be a plus that the food was cheap, but charging $2 for small packaged ranch is a rip off. We were also charged $2.95 for a SMALL kid's drink. (Who does that?) -The table next to us got our food before we did. No really, we ordered before they sat down (the service was open seating). We noticed they got their food way before we did. (Remember, we waited 30 minutes). -My wife and I have both worked in restaurants before. We know how to make customers feel at home. We travelled from another state for a family vacation and unfortunately, we did not feel at home at this diner and it was not a good start to our stay. -After we left we asked around for good places to eat and even locals said that Waffle Shoppe was NOT recommended because of...

They used to be more up the road but moved due to lack of some equipment. Heard that they will be moving back to their original place on Monday and they will have more room for customers. The current building is small, seating about 50 people. There may be some wait. Staff take on people as soon as the tables are clear. At the current location, parking is somewhat limited. Staff are nice and friendly, food is good, not overly salted. It's very affordable- when my husband and I go out to eat we very easily reach 30-40 bucks. We got our bellies full and the total was low 30s. I really liked their sandwich (combination plate). It was a combination of BLT and ham and cheese. Definately will come back for this place! Hopefully we will get to experience them in their regular place.
Went again today 12/23 they moved back to their regular place! Parking and general room...

And even by then, they were starting to grow weary of such libertine ideas as not getting an extreme inverted bob at the local salon. The worst demographic of this town is the crowd that likes Hickory Smokehouse and Waffle Shoppe, so you'll be rubbing shoulders with DeRidder's prime cuts whenever you come here. It drags the experience way down getting stared at by the creepy local men.
The food and prices at Waffle Shoppe are pretty good, but the hours are restrictive. If you're passing through, it's a good place to get some breakfast food, but just be prepared for the weird vibes in here and possibly a long wait for tables. There's only about six physical locations to visit in this town, and this is one of the more...
