I love this restaurant. When visiting El Salvador many years ago I developed a taste for pupusas, and it has been hard to find a way to get my fix here in the Midwest. After I discovered this place I have made a point to stop in whenever I am passing by on I-80; despite being in the middle of town it is very easy to get to from the interstate. It is a small family operation and very friendly, just keep that in mind and allow enough time. The pupusas are great, but also try the tamales! Vegans, vegetarians and those on gluten-free diets will find offerings to meet their needs (although I don't know about preparation, so those with celiac may want to check.) Incredibly authentic and welcoming. Don’t get fooled by the front if you are looking to try this place. The entrance is in the back. The owner actually flagged out group down to make sure we find it!
The food was delicious and clearly made fresh in house. Their tortillas were amazing and the tamales were probably the best I’ve had in the area.
It’s a local gem that will take you straight to Central America! You know it’s good when folks from their home country find the food they love in their new home!

The menu is completely in Spanish and it was our first time visit so we asked our server for suggestions. We took her recommendations for two different meals and then shared everything. We had grilled steak and chicken, fried yucca, plantains, pupusa and pacaya. Everything was excellent. The flavors are very accessable. We enjoyed everything and we will be back to dive deeper into the menu.
