Just as I complained about the slow service at Eau Claire HyVee, I found one with worse service in Iowa. I tried to buy a glass of orange juice. The guy said it cost 5 bucks. I was a little surprised (up in Eau Claire it’s $3.50 plus tax). He then kept telling me how expensive it is, right next to signs promoting their fresh squeezed orange juice. I have never seen something like this: an employee trying to discourage someone from buying their product right next to signs promoting that product. I don’t know if this guy knows. But the embedded coffee shops (Caribou at some HyVee locations and Starbucks at others) generally sell coffee drinks for higher prices. Very bad. Certainly...
Read moreOur breakfast this morning was not up to Hy-Vee standards. The Sweet Cream Waffle was nothing more than a Belgian waffle, only this waffle was soft and not crisp on the outside. The butter pats were cold and hard and not spreadable. The eggs my husband ordered were not over hard, but a well done version of over easy.
