McDonald's — Restaurant in Des Moines

I walked in just about 19:26 because I had stopped at orileys just around the corner and the kids wanted McDonald's so i had them walk over about 45 minutes before I had gotten there. I went to sit with my kids in the play place and since they were at the arcade table I went to the nearest table to there with a number because I wanted to experience the table service with the app. I have a few ventures that I receive compensation occasionally from and like to see how everything works before i get asked to check on some company. I was not being paid for my time ir services and I dont expect to be compensated by anyone other then RVP or their equivalent. I waited about 5 minutes at the table and then checked my phone and it said that they had the order it would be ready and out in 2 to 5 minutes. Well for whatever reason my entire family had something to do outside the play area. I sat and waited. Then when my daughter showed up I asked her to go ask whats the deal with my food, still not wanting to miss the server who may bring it. She comes back and tells me the price of the meal. I explain to her that i already ordered it. She then goes back and the young man who was on the counter reached back to the Heated Landing Zone and got me food that had been there for almost ½ an hour now including the milkshake. There was no way that this could have even been served to the general public. I only really go to McDonald's for the fries of specific time. The oil must be very clean and not alot of build up the fries need to be properly cooked and shaken then lightly salted Honestly I would rather burn my lips on hot fries then eat cold soggy bad oil cooked fries. I digress, excuse my rambling my wife has worked with McDonald's corp since the ⁹⁰s and I have learned quite a few things about them. Like the icecream machine isnt broken everywhere its just that the employees have not read the operating manual for the machine. Generally the said machine has just gone into heater locked mode because the closing manager got busy and then didnt do their job of shutting down the machine rinse it out refill it and then setting it back to automatic mode that can happen depending upon the machine 5x or 6x before it locks out and needs to be reset. Again I apologize but I am very familiar with the whole company. Back to my fries. I asked my daughter to run up to the counter and ask for new fries because these were well past acceptable hold times. The psudo-manager then sends the clerk to work on trash run through the lobby. Now i still haven't seen anyone who was an employee come to the play area. As i watch my daughter attempt to get my fresh fries the clerk asks the kitchen staff for new fries. I dont know if the changed the cook times but I don't think that it should take more then 3 to 4 minutes now. I get upset because now i have been at this store for more then ½ an hour with very light traffic and food that i ordered paid for already. When i went to the counter finally with the bag in hand the psudo-manager first tried saying that I had put it for pickup, looked at the ticket and it had said table 126. Then she tried saying that I had placed the order before i came in the restaurant but I clearly couldnt have when I had inquired to my wife about grimace shake and she didnt know what it was so thats the meal I had ordered from the table I used as the input for the order. I was then told that I had never responded to the employee who was hollering my name for a pickup. I said that it was fine I just wanted my money back. She said since i used the arch app I was to contact customer support and they would be able to refund my order. She was unable to reverse the charge from her side. At that point she tried explaining to me how to access uber eats and I shut her down and didn't even let her continue to lie to my face. The computer froze up when it was my turn to pay. There was no explanation as to why I was waiting. Person who took my money was very nice. Finally pull up to pick up my food and drink pulled away took a drink had the wrong drink. Turn around went back walked in for all my problems all they offered was an apology. I asked if there is anything they can do to make up for the fact that not only did I wait in line forever but had to drive back to get the right drink which in turn is going to make me late for work. Their response was do you want a cookie or a small fry? Really that's it? Yes that's all your time is worth to McDonalds. I get 10% off at the McDonald's near my work just for being in the same parking lot as them. Why Can't This McDonald's give me a percentage off for wasting my time? I was nice to them the whole time without getting mad and I'm thinking maybe I should have thrown a fit like other people do and that would have got what I wanted. However that's not me and I wouldn't pull that. I have respect for myself. I will not be returning to that McDonald's even though it's close...
