My husband and I went by after church to try this restaurant out. We had never had it and it replaced our beloved Pollo Regio. The outside looks great as well as the inside. The atmosphere was business as usual not so much hey we're glad you are here but that's ok. The prices are not too bad. I'm a salsa Verde fan so the sauce was good. Their fajita beef is shredded and didn't taste too bad. Their fajita chicken should definitely be shredded for a better taste and easier to chew which is why I rated it a 4. My husband likes the rice and beans, I however just like the beans the rice was a little bland but warm . This is part 1 of our review because we still have to try breakfast. We didn't get drinks because we had something to drink at home. I feel like their breakfast will be a 5 star for sure. Will update...
Read moreFirst time trying this place and I was very disappointed. I thought we were FINALLY getting some decent tacos in DeSoto. I was wrong. The tortillas they use were horrible. My kids hated them and I had to spit mine out. The food inside the taco was good, but those tortillas made them taste really bad. Both corn and flour. They use those bad tortillas everywhere around Dallas. I'm not sure why. They are not authentic Mexican tortillas. They're Americanized packaged tortillas that have a horrible aftertaste. Chilangos tacos in Dallas off of Harry Hines use the GOOD tortillas! The only thing we got that was good at Taxco was the Cafe de Olla and the service. Very good! But I don't know if it's enough to make me go back. I still have that bad taco taste...
Read moreI usually rate taquerias based on whether or not their barbacoa is real or just shredded roast beef and if they have all of the favorites like lengua, tripas and trompo and let me tell ya that everything is real, authentic and fresh. Their breakfast burritos taste like the ones I make at home (I’m Latin 😁) and their corn tortillas I can almost swear are homemade. The only thing that I didn’t care for was the gorditas. I normally like them made in a pocket style and soft enough to bite into. Theirs are an open style Gordita and was a little on the hard side but that’s okay….Mija’s taqueria in Dallas makes them perfect but for what I would normally eat and close to home…Taqueria Taxco is amazing! Try the...
