China Wok — Restaurant in Detroit

Edit 6/1/2025: It's been over a year and China Wok continues to be a gem. Iris is incredible when it comes to customer service, and the food remains a highlight for me when it comes to lunch and dinner takeout option with my roommates and friends.

Edit 7/27/2024:Ordered the same as we had last time and not only did they remember me, but they remembered I didn't like carrots on my lo mein from the online order I did a month ago which I had forgotten to ask be removed. When I arrived, I was greeted warmly, thanked for my review and my patronage. When I got home, the food was just as delicious and made to specifications as I requested for us. Truly, if I could give more stars, I would. A true hidden gem of a restaurant!

I dine out often with my family, friends, my boyfriend, and my coworkers. The first issue was with ordering she said that quite a few dishes were the same when I know from ordering all the time that they're different dishes. The BIG ISSUE came when we open. The bags at home! None of the food look appetizing and the order was wrong! When I called the next day to let them know the order was wrong, the lady insisted that I had said shrimp egg rolls instead of chicken egg rolls. Then when I let her know that I did not receive the shrimp with garlic dish however I did get vegetables and the white rice she went on to tell me that my brother who picked up the food had probably ate all of the shrimp out of the box. Little did she know I was in the car with him. Instead of offering to replace the egg rolls and remake the garlic shrimp she told me it was my fault and refused to resolve the issue! I remember when my mother told me there were new ppl running the restaurant now... I was worried, as her first experience wasn't great...The food portions were different and she didn't enjoy her shrimp egg foo young. Fast forward to Christmas eve, we wanted to have Chinese for our family dinner. The restaurant I wanted to get food from said it was at least an hr wait, so that was a no go. I decided to give my old fave spot a try, and boy am I glad I did! My large order was only a 20-25 minute wait, the food was delicious, and the customer service was excellent!
