Detroit Axe - Corktown — Restaurant in Detroit

We were celebrating my 55th birthday and staying at the MGM Grand for the weekend. We brought 10 friends to throw axes and enjoyed ourselves. The staff is very well informed and helped us keep track of our score, explain the rules, etc. It is more of a competitive axe-throwing setup - just so you are aware. I enjoyed it but it might not be for people that are not competitive.

The food selection was disappointing. There is a taco truck inside the venue. The selection was very small and the tacos were mediocre. The portions were very small. The sides were fries and tortilla chips with dip. As for the package price, it was not much and could be improved. The drinks were good too but a little weak. The staff was engaging and seemed to enjoy their job. We would return for sure but dine elsewhere or have the tacos for light lunch,...

What a vibe in the center of Corktown. I patronized as a guest for business and I was not expecting what I seen. For a Thursday evening, I’ve never seen so many people just kicked back, enjoying the atmosphere and weather.

The Yard / Detroit Axe was a great night out with the wifey. Axe throwing was fun, and groups you together with strangers so you get to meet some new people. Full bar, pinball, cornhole, taco truck, ice cream and board games! Clean, and friendly. Our Axe-Master Joey V. was great. Only thing keeping it from the fifth star is the reservation policy.
