Lon's Coney Island — Restaurant in Detroit

I’m typically not a fan of any Coney Island restaurant and generally don’t dine in them but this one deserves a shout-out! Every time my brother comes in town, no matter how far his hotel stay is in the suburbs, he’s coming here for breakfast and says repeatedly, “There’s no place in Virginia that even compares to Lon’s”. ONE COOK is grilling for an entire dining area of people and how he can navigate the orders, get them right and serve the customers delicious, piping hot food in a timely fashion is short of amazing! He’s quiet and doesn’t have time to ‘chit chat’ but will speak briefly. Omelets are fresh and delicious. Every location I've visited has been clean and gave friendly, fast customer service. It's the only place I will ever, ever, order my Hashbrowns from here going forward. The top layer crisp, the rest light with a fluff to them. Perfectly seasoned to the point I ate them without Ketchup. Even the eggs were good. People have talked about this place for years! I've lived over here over 20 years and had never tried them, decided to today. Perhaps I didn't get something they specialize in... French toast breakfast... cheese eggs and bacon... there was more cheese than eggs, the toast wasn't French, the bacon was thin. Staff was very friendly, I enjoyed watching the cook.
