Ordered take out food over the phone, picked it up, didn’t check it, my fault I know, got home and noticed the order was wrong, called the restaurant and they asked me did I wanna bring the food back? Silly question to me seeing as I need the food you didn’t provide that I paid for, they stated my food would be ready in 10 minutes, darted back to the restaurant as my family began dinner, presented the wrong items that I was given and felt like I was in court, was told things were in my order that wasn’t, called my wife who was home and immediately gave the phone to the rep so it’s clear I’m not colluding to receive free food, which isn’t even free because I brought back items I didn’t order. Wife provided pictures, had a conversation and was still grilled until finally someone stepped in with some good judgment and ended this fiasco and ordered my food to be made, the women behind the counter were saying I’ll pay for it so I’m guessing this restaurant makes there employees pay for making an honest mistake, which is idiotic as it resulted in them making so many false claims against the customer/me and led to this review. I brought back food that I didn’t even order, had my wife on the phone and pictures of the food that was at home, so I stated I would pay for the food if it was coming out of there hourly wage, I just wanted to get back home to my family, and of course they haven’t even started my food yet, so I had to sit down and wait another 10, maybe 12 minutes after pleading my case with food I didn’t order in hand that my order was wrong. This place has let me down multiple times, but I hate talking down on establishments as this is how people feed there families but the treatment I received today was not justified, unreasonable, uncalled for and worst of all I got back home to my family done eating and the rest of my food cold, the only positive of this place is they are open 24/7. This Nicky D's Coney island has support from the community. This restaurant is always busy, so sometimes your call can get placed on hold. I wish the owners, cooks, cashier's would honor the sign they have posted for the public to view. "No mask, No service !" Cooks, preppers and anyone handling food, eating utensils, napkins, etc. should wear a mask as it is impossible to work & cook without breathing. Since we are still in a pandemic with number of COVID cases increasing in Michigan, I would feel a bit more assured if Nicky D's Coney Island employees breathing over the food & restaurant products would keep all the customers safe, by MASKING UP, as their signs ask the customers. Most of the cashier's have good customer service, but some can be a bit short and impatient with the customers that pay their salaries. Cashier's should always wash their hands after and between handling money, and then packing up your food in bags to go. A deeper focus on washing hands, cleaning surfaces and wearing masks would make me feel more hygienically safe in this restaurant. Don't ask your customers to do something YOUR business does not make the employees follow.
