I was so excited to try this place after seeing all the reviews on Tik Tok and IG. I made reservations about a week in advance which require a credit card fee of $10 per person and a $1 service charge. And when you book, it does advise that this will go towards your food which I was happy about. It also advises of a 20% service fee on all bills which is split among the staff. I was ok with that as well. When we arrived, it was really crowded, and the only parking option they have as far as lots go looks to be valet. My husband dropped me off at the door so I could check on. Here is where things went left. So there are a bunch of people standing in the door way, being that I have never been to this establishment, I was looking for a host/hostess stand. Out of nowhere comes a lady who rudely ask me "Can I help you with something??!!". Now again, there were a bunch of people in the door so she looked to be a patron like me but to my surprise she was the hostess I guess. I told her I had a reservation, still with an attitude, she asked my name. Then she walked away to help someone else....at this point I am furious. So then she comes back, asks my name again, and then tells me I cannot sit until the rest of my party gets there. MY party? It was just me and my husband, reservations for 2. I said my husband just went to go park, but I still had to wait. Thankfully he was coming through the door not long after. So now I am in a mood....because the whole experience started off wrong. So when the server finally comes over, she had to bring a QR code menu and my phone for some reason, doesn't have that option so I asked if they have paper menu's, they do not. So my husband had to pull it up on his phone. More irritation. It was so loud in there with music and people talking. Our server was ok, a little more attentive to the larger party next to us, but no biggie. The mimosa was excellent so cheers to the bartender. And the food was good, my pancakes were probably the best I have had in a long time. So I would probably return during the week when it's less crowded and to try lunch or dinner. But please do better with making the host/hostess stand clear and be a little more friendly to people coming in the door, it makes a world...
Read moreAttempted to eat dinner here on Saturday night with no success and lackluster service. Once seated, a server never approached our table. After waiting quite some time, I flagged down the hostess and brought it to her attention. Finally, a server came over to greet us and start us out with waters. As we were prepared to order our food, we were informed that one of the seafood dishes and one of the desserts were unavailable. We were a party of three and unfortunately for me, both unavailable items were what I planned to order. The waitress insisted I could "come back again and order it next time" - that's not really inviting considering it was our first visit. Either way, I opted for a different dish - the seafood risotto. In all, we ordered two drinks, one appetizer and three entrees. Before receiving anything, the manager comes over and tells me that they can make the seafood risotto, but were missing three main items that go in the dish... Why would I still want the entree and pay full price for it at that? I mentioned that it was our first time and that so far, things hadn't been going right. The manager basically shrugged me off so at that point, we decided to leave and take our business elsewhere. The waitress mentioned again that we should come back and give them another try. That isn't inviting when I didn't have a great first experience. Customer service could have made the evening and interaction go a completely different way. I can't recommend this restaurant nor will I try to...
Read moreIf I could leave 0 stars, I would. I’ve tried to patronize this business TWICE, especially since it’s Black-owned. The first time, I made a reservation on the actual website a week in advance for a party of 3. I received a confirmation email too. When I arrived the day of, the door was locked. They told my guests that they were closed and that it’s reflected in their “new hours.” However, they didn’t realize that it’s not reflected correctly on Google NOR their actual website.
I decided to stop by again on a Friday after 5pm (again according to Yelp, Google, and their website), and they were closed!
Look, I’m understanding, especially to small owned businesses. However, it doesn’t take much to update customers. I would’ve even accepted having a sign up on the door saying they were closed.
They don’t realize that this type of practice harms their brand because I’m definitely not going to have anything positive to say via word of mouth.
Avoid at all cost if you value your time. Unprofessional and inconsiderate...
