Knew something was gonna be different when I called to place the order. He was very particular about my arrival time. He mentioned that he didn't want it sitting long because it effects the quality of the crust! I'm thinking, "Huh? What? Sir you are on 7 Mile. I was truly surprised he cared." But I assured him I would arrive on time. Figuring maybe people would order and not show, I didn't think too much more about it.
I got there a bit early and went in the door I believed was the spot because there was no sign on the door. The co-owner, preparer, server and cashier greets me as I walked in and told me my pizzas were just about ready. He asks, how I found him. I told him, "random Google search." He then tells me that they've only been open three weeks are are still getting everything together (explains the lack of signage). He tells me more about the story behind the why he started the business with two pizza places in walking distance on both sides. This guy really cares about the quality of pizza, especially the dough. He's not interested in serving you run-of-the-mill. He sincerely wants his pies to stand out. He promised the best and requested a honest review and so he shall get. He even walked my pizzas to my car for me and threw in a few extras. Customer service was top notch, above and beyond.
Now for the pizza...you can definitely tell he takes pride in his crust. It is quality in taste and texture. However, the sauce and the toppings were not stand outs. The sauce tasted canned and I must admit I was a little disappointed. Because he cares so much about his product, I would love for him to really master a top notch sauce to go on top of the pizza. One that he has put his own signature touch into. He could then even get away with toppings that every other pizza places serves. Will I order again, sure. But it will be because I want to see this young man live out his pizza making dreams not because its the best pizza I've ever had. He is gonna have to raise the bar on more than just the crust to make a name for himself in the city that is...
Read moreI had to wait to see how the reheat was on this. First off, the owner is very concerned about pleasing his customers. When it comes to customer service he represents the epitome of customer satisfaction. The restaurant is clean and runs efficiently. No long wait for food. I dont know what person would or even could leave a negative review. Even the prices are more than fair when compared to other restaurants in the industry. You get more than what you pay for. And as for the food? I ordered a chicken barbecue pizza and a beef shawarma, both were flavorful and came packed with meat. And yes, the next day reheat did not disappoint. You can tell alot about the ingredients in a meal when you can eat the leftovers the next day and still get a smile on you face. Im a business owner myself and recommend my clients to eat here while they wait for their family members to finish their classes with me. It's definitely my go to place for a good meal. The variety on the menu is excellent and this small family restaurant out performs others in its industry. Definitely recommend to give this place a try. You'll be a long time...
Read more✨🔥 Just had an AMAZING experience at Pizza Joint on 7 Mile & Meijer — and I have to give a huge shoutout to Joy! He was so kind and welcoming, greeted me (and my pizza 😄) with a genuine smile, and made the whole visit feel warm and personal.
I got the 2-topping pizza special, and let me tell you… it did NOT disappoint. The pizza was hot, fresh, and flavorful, and it came with 21 pieces of cheesy bread heaven plus a cold 2L Pepsi. Everything was made to order and tasted like it came straight from a family kitchen. 🧀🍕🥤
The service? 10/10. The food? 12/10. The vibes? Immaculate. I’m already planning my return — next time I’m trying a shawarma or one of their bowls, because if they’re anything like the pizza… it’s over. 🔥
