The food at this restaurant is undeniably flavorful and well-prepared—each dish shows quality and care. However, I found the pricing a bit steep, especially since many of these meals can be made at home just as well, if not better. Beyond the food, the atmosphere left much to be desired. The dining area felt cold and uninviting, and what concerned me most was the clutter along the walls. It looked more like a storage warehouse or garage than a restaurant, with boxes and storage bins lined up like a hoarder’s stash. This gave off an untidy vibe that’s definitely an eyesore and doesn’t inspire confidence in cleanliness. I hope none of that clutter affects the food quality, but for a restaurant, a cleaner, more organized environment would make a big difference. Worth a try if you’re curious, but there’s room for improvement in ambiance and upkeep.

Local place with lots of well locals. Always a good sign when going to a resturant. Not many Puerto Rican resturants in Detroit. Don Luis Mich Ave gone but awesome. Store front church on Michigan Ave gone but awesome. Ordered postelitios/empanadas with ground beef and cheese. Also arozz con gondules/rice pigeon peas. Got home and first bite of rice and postelitios was dry. They had some sort of dipping sauce on the side. Did not help much just dried out meat and rice. Nice people great atmosphere but the food needs work.

This place was great. Its kind of tucked away, but worth the drive. I have been looking for an authentic Puerto Rican restaurant for a while and glad I could finally find one. The hours that you see here could change though not sure how often that happens. I had tried to make arrangements to come here a few times with my friends before finally being able to stop in on a Tuesday night. The downside? Parking & parking lot is overall not good, needs to be maintained and or paved. But food? Excellent šŸ«¶šŸ¼šŸ’Æ

I was here at this restaurant 5yrs ago but didn't return bc the food wasn't that great but I'm very sadden to say that it's not good at all now. And I say this as constructive criticism bc I always want mi gente to do well. We came in and the place looked so dark and it didn't feel clean at all. I ordered few dishes. The Carne Guisada was extremely dry tasting. The Chuletas de Cerdo estaba ok it only came with one chop for a dinner portion. The Mofongo was very good, I truly enjoyed that. My Canoa de Carne didn't look appealing at all so I didn't eat. The alcapurrias looked very greasy and overcooked so once again I didn't eat them. What I was really disappointed with was the Mollejitas y Guineitos side dish. It literally looked gray color weigh no flavor at all, the bananas were so mushy and overcooked. No color, no vinegar nothing. Just tasted like boiled vegetables. My empanadillas de Carne was another issue, the meat had no flavor at all!! And when they were fried they were not sealed correctly so it cooked the insure with the meat. I say this to say, Puerto Rican food has so much flavor, color, peppers, olives, so many ingredients and this place is just doing the bare minimum to make Our food but MI gente, you know YOUR food could be so much better! And the cleanliness in the bathroom is an issue. The young lady at the Bar was extremely professional and very friendly. Her service...

I must say I was totally skeptical about this place. At first, it didn't give me the good restaurant vibe. The business sign was on the sidewalk, and the entrance was confusing. The place does not feels like a restaurant at all. It's actually a bar with a few tables for people to eat. The atmosphere is very dark with pool table and a huge bar. Not an ideal place to seat and have a meal. However, I must say I ordered the Pernil plate and Mofongo Balls and I was totally surprised on how good the food was. Great flavor, great seasoning, the Pernil was very soft and delicious, Arroz con Gandules was on point, the Mofongo balls were slightly fried but good, and they give you a nice portion of food with salad. The Parcha juice was a bit too sweet for me, but it was still good. Overall, the food was great, totally worth it. The atmosphere not so much. I think the owners should decide whether they want a bar or a restaurant. I think next time I will order...

Is sad when we have Puerto Rican restaurants but the food is not good when puertorican food is really good I had rice with pernil and my friends and it was cold n dry like it was a left over plate. No flavor . I had friends tell me puertorican food is no good so I proof them wrong I went n bought what I needed n cooked rice w gandules n made a pernil n potatoe salad n they loved it. I bought monfongo from here too n it was good. They just need to work on their food with seasoning n not burnt the meat or overcooking , I just hate that people buy puertorican food in some restaurants n think that’s how our food really is , you just have to be dedicated to cooking n love doing it to work as a chef making puertorican food n you will have so much customers n please don’t serve pork that’s old you could get sued , I’m still going to give this place another chance in about a week n see how the food taste but if is still the same way I probably won’t...
