Located right in the middle of the decadent rich culture, ambience, and cuisine of our dear neighbors to the south the place we Detroiters lovingly refer to as Mexican Town sits an Italian inspired gem, Sicily's Pizzeria.

Walk in off Vernor through the angled antique wood doors after parking in the ample lots both on the west side of the building, as well as in the north side rear. As you enter you'll be greeted first by the historic ambience. Long glass counter filled with cookies, wood and tile floors and subtle decorative choices that harken to eras past.

Aa you veer left, passing a large entry into the dining room, you will immediately be welcomed by not only the hostess/waitress, but also from the voices of the men working the prep and cook lines.

The pizza ordered on this visit was just leaving the old world oven and being boxed. Their 15-20 minute prediction was right on point. I was offered a complimentary side of their homemade ranch and was genuinely thanked for my patronage.

I arrived home with the 10" Meatlovers and the 14" Margherita. They were cooked to perfection. Beautiful dark bubbles formed in the crispy sourdough crust...ok, let's pause to recognize and appreciate that fact. Sourdough. Homemade from family starter in which you could taste the love of generations. This crust was elite. Ok, back to the rest of these pies...Perfectly balanced amounts of meats (all pork free). The mozzarella mix of fresh and aged and the herbaceous sprigs of basil were tantalizing to every segment of the taste buds. Rich, savory, salty, sweet, and the sauce spiced with equal attention to balance.

I highly recommend giving this restaurant a try. I'm looking forward to a return visit to try more pizza and to venture deeper...

I ordered my food with my coworkers. I was told it would be 45 minutes. It was a Saturday I said fine I know you are busy I will see you then. One hour and a half goes by I give them a call, Hey Is my order on the way. They tell me yeah it just left. Ok but I ordered it an hour and a half ago it was suppose to be here in 45 minutes, that was preparing and then delivery in 45 minutes I asked. So we waited and the delivery lady came finally I was starving, still am because this happen today. And I go to check my food and my coworkers do the same I'm not paying for cold food and guess what it was COLD. So I was informed that my meal couldn't fit in the heat box so my food froze for an hour while everyone else's stayed all warm. SIDENOTE WE WORK 10 MINUTES AWAY 15 IF IT'S BAD TRAFFIC. I sent my food back because if you were going to comp it and you wanted me to pay for a cold meal you had life messed up. My coworkers called the place to report this and they said sorry nonchalantly and said they would resent the meal and it would be first. Literally 2 hours later I called to tell them nevermind and they informed me that the food was ready and just waiting for the girl to come back she didn't come back yet. Moral of the story please take your business...

Sour Dough bread perfection for pizza! The owner has found a niche! Building a pizza from the ground up, let me explain... To get Sour Dough one has to have a Mother(a starter that can be quite old depending on how long he's nurtured it or from where he got his Mother) ok so while the Owner keeps his Mother by feeding it, he's building a complexity in the bread you don't normally see in regular pizza dough. Their Pie is a chewier build to the dough with a lighter crispsness that is hard to aquire. The dough itself has great flavour(A plus from what he's feeding the Mother)then you add fresh, top grade ingredients on top with an oven kept "Hotter than Hell!" Viola! You have Pizza Magic happening! I had this place in my "go to" list for a year and finally am glad to say Yes, it was well worth my 45minute drive for a Pie that made me moan in sheer tasty delight! I'll be visiting again and put this place in my heavy Pizza rotation! Support your local buisnesses while they support our...

Beware: this is a review contributed by a lifelong lover the NY Giants, Knicks and thin crust NYC-style pizza. That said, Sicily's served up one of the best pizzas I've ever had in my life. And given that I might have actually been a pepperoni pie in my past life, that's saying something. Personally, there's no reason to order the round pies here because the standout is the square. Everything about it screams unique and delicious. The pies come out hot and fresh. They're thick, but not too thick. The crust crunches with just enough sauce, just enough cheese, and just enough toppings. There's also plenty of seating, as the restaurant is spacious. The staff go out of their way to be nice, welcoming and helpful. And the prices are reasonable for the quality you are guaranteed to receive. If you're in Detroit, go here, order the square (highly recommend the pepperoni square if you eat pork), and thank me later!

Five Star!!⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had heard about Sicily's, and was following them on Instagram. I finally got a chance to go visit. Super friendly staff here that enjoy what they're doing. I picked up "The Sicily" a large specialty pizza. This smell was so intoxicating as I drove it home. First bite was super incredible, delicious toppings, homemade meatball, perfectly brown cheese, very fresh red onion and green pepper. Amazing bite after bite and then I reached the crust... 🤯Let me tell you, making a sourdough fermented style crust is such a difference! I'm usually a little picky about my crust, and it has to be good for me to want to eat it. The flavor was phenomenal and it had such a light airy tenderness in the middle, plus the perfect fire roasted char on the outside to make it perfectly chewy. Don't walk, run to Sicily's 10/10 recommend!
