We tried Soul 2 Go for the first time today. The service was top-notch! The gentleman who helped us was beyond kind & courteous.
We ordered the fried chicken wing dinner & smothered turkey chops. Their dinners come with 2 sides. My husband loved the chicken wings, which says a lot because he is a picky eater. We got the mac & cheese, greens, baked beans, & seafood pasta salad. He liked the mac & baked beans, which is shocking because, again, he is a picky eater. The greens had a little more salt than I prefer, but they were still good. The seafood pasta was simple but tasty. They threw in some banana pudding because the food took a bit longer than expected. We weren't tripping, but it was a nice gesture & the perfect excuse to try the banana pudding. Let's just say that we'll be ordering some on our next visit.😉
They have a rewards program that is pretty cool & not common at most independent carryout restaurants. Parking wasn't bad during our visit but the bus stop is right outside the front door so watch the traffic if you park on Whittier. There are stools & counter tops if you want to wait inside for your food. The atmosphere is pleasant and the...
Read moreMy rating is based upon customer service only I placed a call to alert of a previous missed item in bag and was greeted with nothing but attitude from someone name Taylor who claims to be the owner. The attitude was so bad that I had to cancel my order due to fear of something happening to my food I used to always order from soul 2 go but after today I will no longer patronize their business. When my item was initially missing from my bag I called and the lady that answered was very sweet we even laughed about the situation she even offered to have someone bring it to me but we agreed next time I order it’ll be replaced but today I got Taylor on the line after placing my $100.00 order and getting nothing but attitude customer service is what keeps the business thriving at the end of the day your customers are what keeps the business open. Highly disappointed as I usually deal with the man in the establishment who is...
Read moreI had the pleasure of dining at Soul 2 go, and it truly felt like a home-cooked meal with soul. The fried chicken was perfectly seasoned crispy on the outside and juicy inside. The mac and cheese was creamy and rich, with that baked crust. The yams stole the show sweet, buttery, and perfectly caramelized with just the right hint of spice. They were rich and comforting, like dessert that pairs beautifully with savory dishes. And I can’t forget the BBQ sauce smoky, tangy, and with just the right kick. It tied everything together perfectly, whether on the baked chicken or dipped with a side. That sauce alone is worth coming back for!
The special item, the corned beef sliders, was a pleasant surprise. Tender, juicy beef stacked on soft buns and seasoned to perfection..they were unique & flavorful.
Together with the friendly service and cozy atmosphere, this place really knows how to deliver soul food with a twist....
