Allow me to preface this by saying that I try to provide balanced reviews. I never make a post based on a single experience, we all have bad days. However, multiple bad experiences add up to a pattern, so here we go...
This is my neighborhood Subway, and being a person who really likes Subway, this is where I WOULD go if I had a taste for fast food. But every single experience I've had at this location has been with a single employee who is particularly awful at her job.
I was once inside the store, and a woman behind the counter had a very poor attitude--AFTER she took her sweet time emerging from the back of the store. Ok, fine, we all have a bad day here and there.
Next, I was in the drive thru, the ONLY car in the drive thru and no one in the lobby (you can see into the store as you pull into the drive thru). I was told to wait... idk, maybe she's doing something more important than getting money in the door, so I waited... and waited... and waited. The waiting may have been more tolerable had her attitude been okay from the start on this encounter but when she finally returned to take my order, her poor attitude caused me to drive away.
Lastly, and this one happened today so its much more fresh in my mind, she comes on the intercom very rudely "go ahead with your order." Allow me to pause here... there is a right and wrong way to say this, I'm not so much arguing against her choice of words as I am HOW she said it. I began ordering, and I was quickly cut off, almost at a volume where I'm being yelled at, and asked something I already stated in my order. Again, in frustration, I drove away.
These are not the only experiences at this location... again, I love Subway. And since its in my neighborhood I always think "today is the day they get it right." But as a small business owner, I couldn't tolerate someone driving business away in the way this woman is repulsing would-be customers. If it has happened to me this many times, I know others share my experience. This is potentially thousands in lost revenue for one person's poor attitude, afterall, its not her money on the line. This may seem personal, and it is, I don't know this woman but I live in this community and it should not be a foregone conclusion that fast food service in the city will be poor, I don't tolerate it, least of all when I'm spending my hard earned money. Never do I expect flattery, but I do expect the same level of service I give my own customers; and when I'm in a rush and have a choice between McDeath or my favorite breakfast sandwich (steak egg and cheese on white flatbread with yellow egg, provolone cheese, onions, green peppers, spinach, and southwest sauce), I'm going to go for my favorite and it frustrates me to no end to have to deal with this--I won't spend my money, I'd rather just go hungry. And if she doesn't correlate the success of this store with her ability to maintain stable employment, then maybe she needs to find...
Read moreOrdered online Sunday, while I was waiting for my order to be ready I watched a woman walk out of the restaurant & get into the truck parked next to me. I then proceeded to go inside, the sign on the door says drive thru only. So I went around to the drive thru & sign in the window says closed. I sat there for 5ish mins and no one came to the window so I left. I called the restaurant later that afternoon and the gentleman advised me my sandwich was there and I could come get it. Mind you I ordered at 9:45am and was talking to him at about 3pm. He advised to call the manager Crystal back and see if she would refund my money because I had already headed back to Ohio where I live. I have tried to call the restaurant to follow up with Crystal but the phone keeps getting picked up & then they immediately hang up.
