T-Mo’s BBQ Pit (Chicken & Ribs) — Restaurant in Detroit

This was my first time eating here. We ordered a medium rip tip dinner with baked beans, collard greens and an extra side of mac and cheese. The service and customer service was kind and welcoming. The portions were enormous but unfortunately the food no where near met my expectations. The mac and cheese was more, i think its egg, and noodle than anything else. Barely any cheese and the cheese that was was clunky and chunky. It was the worst thing we had. The collard greens were okay. Nothing to rave on about, but edible.and enjoyable. The baked beans were good but had a off after taste, it was also unusually thick. The rib tips were tender but lacked flavor.

I live in the neighborhood and was really hoping this would be fantastic BBQ, especially considering the reviews. I'm going to say that today was just an off day. I'm willing to give it another try- there are too many good ratings for this to be the normal. Once, I try it again,...

My husband and I were excited to try out a new place in the neighborhood. We showed up 30 minutes after the advertised opening time to find locked doors, but were quickly welcomed in by a friendly and helpful lady. We found ourselves in a small space, clearly designed for carry-out service with only a few high top tables. The menu was posted on two large screens on the wall behind the counter, but unfortunately they switched back and forth every few seconds, making it nearly impossible to read. We ended up ordering the first two things the nice lady suggested, smoked wings and a half slab of ribs. There turned out to be a 15 minute wait for the ribs, but when they were finally ready the staff was careful to make sure the rest of our order was hot and ready at the same time. Folks I live in Ann Arbor and have made 2 trips for food within 4 days. Many grew up on Soul Food and perhaps many places in Detroit who sell it. HOWEVER THIS IS THE REAL DEAL FOLKS. The Mac and Cheese, rib tips, Pork Chop Special...the baked beans...yea buddy. Also supporting another local favorite, like we SUPPOSED TO DO- They have a nice selection of desserts from Peteet's Famous Cheesecakes. The prices are Amazing and Ms Linda and the Co Owner herself Ms Mo....ready and willing to take your order. They have to be some of the Customer First ,friendliest and accommodating Restaurant family folk I've met in a long while. It feels like going by a friend's house snagging a plate.
